RUMOUR - Owen Hargreaves

by l0y4l R0y4l » 06 Feb 2012 13:27

A reliable source who had predicted the Jason Roberts and Tomasz Cywka double swoop has indicated we are ready to launch an audacious attempt to sign the services of Owen Hargreaves on loan.

With our wage budget increased and with Owen Hargreaves falling out of favour at his current club Manchester City. The signing of yet another midfielder in january proving his days are numbered. I'm sure Mr Hargreaves could possibly look at Reading as an ideal place to prove his worth and fitness no doubt.

If Hargreaves was able to stay fit he would be in the city side, no wait he'd still be in the UTD side. So unfortunately he's either injured or too good!

Silva Nasri Milner Barry Toure Pizzaro Johnson De Jongh >>>>>>>> Hargreaves (in Mancini's opinion)

I would put him above De Jong certainly. Do not rate him. When he was fit for England he was a revelation.

would you be referring to @BigMoneyMoves perchance?? they also forecast Marvin Sordell to Reading, Freddy Ljungberg to MK Dons & Ronaldo & Messi to Man City...... oh and they told Andy Carrol to ''shup you're a horse''........ the choice is yours!

Would be really exciting - he's not quite Gylfi, but he'd be SUPERB if he could get anywhere near his early career form. Not sure why I'm allowing myself to belive this though

I won't believe this until I've heard whether or not he's booked in any house viewings.

Reading consider Hargreaves lifeline
11:00 AM 06 February, 2012
Reading Football Club could offer Owen Hargreaves the chance to get his career back on track.

The England international has experienced huge problems with injury over the past few years, but he sealed a move to Manchester City when his contract at Manchester United expired in the summer.

Hargreaves, though, has failed to force his way into the plans of Roberto Mancini, who signed David Pizarro from Roma in a loan deal for the rest of the campaign on deadline day.

Fans FC now understands the 31-year-old has emerged as a target for ambitious Championship club Reading, who could swoop for his signature when the loan window reopens.

it would be a statement of intent only. hargreaves, as good as he is, is injury ridden and can't string a handful of games together. would i want him here? well on a short loan why not, but then you have to ask where would he fit in? karacan is playing some of his best football, leigertwood isn't far off fitness as well. three similar positions there. plus there must be a que of premiership clubs willing to take a risk on him, especially on a short-term deal.

He cannot be loaned to a prem team, so if he is looking to play, then why not? We would only pay part of his wages (like Bridge). He is surely a better option than Tabb and would give Jem and Ledge some genuine competition...
