Wow, didn't see this coming and imho this is bad news for England ahead of the Euros. Capello is a very good manager and I liked the new direction he was taking the England team. Very disappointed both in the FA and Capello.

Yet another utter cock up by the football authorities. Nothing wrong with suspending a player from the team until the case is over: I suspect if that were all they'd done, Capello wouldn't have made the same remarks. He wouldn't have been able to highlight the patent absurdity of suspending a player from the captaincy on the grounds of team spirit but letting him go on playing for the team.

I didn't like Capello; but it's no good to England to lose a manager at this stage, especially without an obvious replacement in store. If anything, it reduces our chances of doing well at the Euros. And it could get worse if Terry or other players now decide not to go. I loathe our football leaders: Bernstein struck me as a lamentable appointment from day one. The unlikelihood that he will sleep with secretaries isn't sufficient qualification for his job. He is the priest of the safe half-measure. No doubt he and his mates will now do something timid and grey, like appointing David Pleat interim manager for the Euros. :x

I'd like to see Carlton Palmer in a player/manager role...

Lets face it, he was going after the Euros anyway, and his position on Terry was pretty shit. He hasn't given us the total shake up we needed (although he did go a little towards it) and our performance in the World Cup was poor. Yes he's a good manager, but he wasn't exactly doing any better than anyone else when it came to the crunch, was he.

The only problem is our alternatives are shit, inexperienced, inexperienced and shit, not English or dodgy as feck.

Well 'not English' doesn't matter. I struggle to see how Hiddink or Mourinho would be bad appointments.

Can't see Mourinho leaving Madrid without toppling Ba*ca properly. If they lose the last Clasico and go on to win la liga then people will say he didn't win it properly because he failed to beat Barca. Whatever Balague and others say about him wanting out in the end his ego wouldn't be able to handle it.

Harry. Got Southampton relegated, got sacked and got replaced by Clive Woodward.

Thinking the same thing, no way he or half the names on the bookies list are ever going to want the job.

Jerry St Clair Does it matter who the manager is if the players are a bit shit?

Getting the correct scapegoat is vital

Surely this is all Anton Ferdinand's fault for snitching instead of dealing with a bit of banter?

Or JT for being a snivelling weasel of a man, who wouldn't do the decent thing and step down even though we all knew how the furore would build and what the end result would be.

JT = pathetic pcunt

Too late to impose a new ethos on the squad, I believe they will go with Stuart Pearce.

What a SHAMBLES. The red-tops will be delighted with this as the Sun and the Mirror as well as the Volkischer Beobachter - sorry, the Daily Mail - have been baying for his blood for ages, despite him having the best record of any previous England manager. It was because he was foreign and the next manager will be English regardless of his record; so 'Arry it is unless they go completely hatstand and choose Sam 'the Hutt' Allardyce.

1871 Royal Best winning % of ANY England manager EVER though :shock:

Be that as it may, when it really mattered his team was utter dogshit.
