That's a very valid point. Just how can this sort of agreement be legitimate? How would the league have felt if the outcome of this game was critical to other clubs?

It's probably not quite as uncommon as people think. I wish I could remember it but there was a game in the last couple of weeks where the player had just signed from the club his new team was due to play.

Think it might have been Jutkiewitz (spelling) from Coventry to Middlesbrough but didn't play against Coventry due to a similiar "gentlemen's agreement".

The fact that it's a gentlemens agreement means it's got nothing to do with anyone else.
There are probably a few bits and pieces we're not aware of regarding the contracts etc.
Maybe derby loaned him to us, where he joins properly in the summer??

Jordan Obita's progress may be going well at Barnet, but surely he'd be much better playing for us in this injury crisis? He can't be worse than Mills was Saturday. It's not Mill's fault, he's not a winger, it was lucky we were playing the worst team in the league, which is apparently a banana skin.

On a similar note, why do people keep saying that it's a sign of a good team that we keep winning despite getting outplayed? Hunt said a similar thing in an interview on the OS, and I'd argue that a sign of a good team is one that actually deserves to win a game, and I'd rather the players don't pat themselves on the back after a win like that on Saturday and instead concentrate on improving.

Fair enough, if it was a one off poor performance away at somewhere like Donny and we grind out a 1-0 win then I could cope with the overuse of this particular footballing cliche, but we haven't dominated a game for a long time.
