Charlton back to winning ways today, just. They have 51 points from 22 games, so need 56 points from 24 games for the record. 16 wins and 8 draws would do it. :| :?

On the plus side Charlton now the only real danger after Crawley slipped up.

Time for the monthly update :

Down to only 18 teams that can still get 106 :

None at all in the PL (they really are rubbish aren't they - I know, I know, only 38 games  )

Championship - Southampton (113), Middlesbrough (111), West Ham (110) & Cardiff (108) - we can take out Cardiff if we get a result on Monday
League One - Charlton (120), Sheff Utd (116), Sheff Wed (115), MK Dons (112), Huddersfield (112) & Stevenage (107)
League Two - Crawley (118), Southend (117),Cheltenham (115), Shrewsbury (110), Swindon (109), Burton (109) & Oxford (106)

Charlton remain the only team averaging a rate that's enough to hit more than 100 points (2.22 ppg - 102 points)
In fact, only Crawley and Charlton are averaging enough points per game to get above 95 points.

I feel a little better now that Charlton have lost ground.

I think its pretty much safe for another year. Charlton could go unbeaten and still not get 106. 15 wins & 8 draws from now = 104pts. Always good to tick them off though.

Hamer doing us proud still, helping make sure Charlton don't break the record.

The appeal against the red will clearly be upheld - on two counts. First it didn't touch his hand or arm and second it struck him inside the box. Other than that, it was a cracking decision.

Hope I haven't spone too soon. Another 3 points with home games v Bury & Rochdale to come. 44 points required from 19 games.

W13 D5 L1 or W14, D2, L3 - It's still a tough ask.

However, they are grinding out results at the moment.

Last minute equaliser too. 16 games to go gives them a potential of 118 points.

Monthly Update :

Only 7 teams left that can get 106 :

Championship
- only West Ham but they have to win ALL their remaining games to get 107

League One
- Charlton can still get 118 (and I'm still a little concerned)
- Sheff Utd can still get 110
- Huddersfield can get 106 by winning all the remaining games

League Two
- Cheltenham can get 107 but any dropped points and they're gone
- Crawley can get 112
- Swindon can get 109

Realistically, Charlton are the only concern as we could be down to one or two by the end of February (depending on the weather)
Charlton's run-rate gives them 105

106 points

As West Ham obliged us by not getting 3 points this evening,

our 106 points are safe for another season.

There is indeed a thread in GF for this discussion.

Charlton still worry me, another win for them tonight.

And why not. It usually applies in reverse when we mention our 13 straight wins from the start of the season!

They keep winning by the odd goal unlike us we tore teams apart. Can they keep being lucky?

Sadly I worry that they could, although it did sound like they struggled tonight, against 10 men as well. Its a shame the caliber of the opposition isn't the same.

I thought the franchisees might have helped us out, but no/.

Charlton are averaging enough to reach 106. Shirley not ................... 17 games and they need 40 points

12 wins, 4 draws and 1 defeat. Or 13 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats.

Tough, but do-able.
