i preferred the old den actually. the new den is far from special i agree, but another stadium to add to the list nonetheless.

i've had a look on the away fans guide to get there. south bermondsey station. but for someone who is destined to spend the whole day lost on the tube, what is the route from reading?

Pretty simple, Reading > Paddington > District to Bond Street > Jubilee to London Bridge > Above ground train thing to South Bermondsey.

Or Reading to waterloo, then jubilee line two stops to london bridge, but that Reading to London Waterloo train is awful

that sounds a little easier. too many changes and i'm bound to go wrong somewhere. why is it an awful train?

Because it will take about an hour and a half from Reading, maybe just less. It also has more stops than you've had hot dinners

By some distance the dullest away trip in the Championship.

You see nothing of the locality other than South Bermondsey station and the inside of the ground. The police won't let you drink anywhere near the ground - you might get a pint near Lonners Bridge of you're lucky. It's probably safer these days than going to Wycombe. Basically, don't get very excited about it.

According to the scoreboard before the game tonight, the Millwall away game is being played at the Riverside Stadium. So that will amend the travel arrangements somewhat.

The district doesn't go to bond street... As long as its running take the Bakerloo line to Bond Street from Paddington (the connection with the jubilee is far better at bond street).

Just to credit myself, take the Bakerloo to Baker Street and then change for Jubilee line to London Bridge and National Rail to South Bermondsey going from platforms 14-16ish

Dont think so but providing you are not a weirdo you can join us weirdos for a pint in The Market Porter, London Bridge before getting the quick train down from London Bridge (its the only pre-match routine that makes sense in my book *).

Still NO news on tickets for this game for the 3rd March, yet you can buy tickets for Forest on the 17th April.

^ which means that RFC are still yet to receive ticket details from Millwall. The Forest game, being at home and all that, is totally under their control hence why you can buy tickets for it.

I remember being served cider last year as managed to get a couple of bottles in to the stand for the 2nd half.

We used to do a slightly more convoluted route of tube to Elephant and Castle, then bus down the Old Kent Road and stop off at The Canterbury Arms. It was a bit of a dive but less than ten minutes walk and never had any bother either. No idea if its still open.
