Agent Balti .
Mass Sarr - Probably THE most frustrating player we've had, but on his day he was worth his weight in Jaffa Cakes. In front of the East Stand, full back marking him. Back heeled the ball with his left foot onto his right shin and ran on to receive his own thru ball. Unfortunately, we never saw enough of that from Mass.
.

There is a documentary on Mass available here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyvFa8LRcFM

Has some interesting points about reading from part 2 onwards.

Franchise FC Dean Horrix, after the ball went out for a throw, picking up the ball and offering to the oppo, only to drop it as the oppo went to take it.

Pure Deano - pure class

I was going to post exactly the same incident when I saw the thread.

My memory of it was

Ball goes out for a throw
Deano holds the ball out in front of him offering it to the oppo player
Just as the oppo plyer is about to take the ball, Deano drops it
Deano toe traps the ball
Oppo player bens down to pick the ball up
Deano flicks the ball away
Much laughter

I named my eldest son Dean

JR Simon Osborn clattering the crossbar against Wolves with a stunning 25 yard volley. Was still shudderring when they ripped Elm Park down.

That reminds me - Mick Tait's header against Luton at Wembley which was described as '.. the bar got the biggest bashing since the Scots smashed it..'. I can still hear that one now.

Schards#2 Portsmouth home circa 1978, had no previous experience of Pompey and arrived to found the Southbank totally overrun.

Barnsley home circa 1981, hammering with rain so the police, for the only time I can remember, let the Barnsley fans (quite a few as it was a top of the table clash) into the town end of the southbank. Superb atmosphere and a 3-2 win

Was at the game a certain Steve Death played a blinder.

Michael Gilkes first return to Reading in a Wolves shirt. Pre-match warm-up, hero's welcome. Almost in tears (him and I).

Bas Savage falling over the ball, taking three Millwall players out of the game and then running off down the wing at The Den in 2004.

Norwich City fan falling down 20 steps in 2004.

Stephen Hunt knobbling Cech's head.

Last minute header forcing Steve Francis to pull off a worldy to keep the score at 3-2 against AFC Bournemouth having been 3-0 up with 10 minutes to play in a game we absolutely pasted them in.

Lee Nogan stretching Gascoigne/Germany-esque in the first 15 minutes against Man Utd, Jan 06.

floyde getting a fist to the face after Palace away Jan 06.

Jimmy Quinn missing one of only two missed penalties against Birmingham City without a specialist keeper to beat, November 92.

Hunt "taking out" Cech, Sonko clattering Cudicini and John Terry going in goal... Robbie Savage going in goal too was pretty funny

He missed three pens for us.

That Birmingham one in the FA Cup, York City away in 1994 - all of those present in the away end will remember watching the ball soaring gracefully over our heads as it took its leave from the ground, and at Valley Parade in 1993 - we lost 3-0 and Quinn got a gobfull of abuse from the home fans throughout the match.

That Birmingham match was Lambert's RFC debut IIRC. He was awesome. What a waste.

Cambridge away - 2001

We were 1-0 up from an early Cureton goal in an otherwise drab game. Matt Robinson was sent off and it became only a matter of time before an equaliser was scored. We saw out the game to finish 1-1.

So why do I remember such a crap game...

... Rougier was brought on to play as a lone striker, but was so shockingly bad in the role that he was subbed back off again after only 15mins on the pitch to be replaced by Forster.

Was that the one where James Harper hit the crossbar from a substantial way out of the area?

Also probably the worst excuse for 'food' I've ever had at an away ground... the only thing they sold were bacon rolls that disintegrated the moment you held them

I don't recall that being in this game. In fact I think it was Parkinson and Keith Jones in the middle of the park that day so doubt he got a look in.

That has reminded me though, I seem to also remember during the warm up our lads were trying to hit the crossbar in front of the away end from distance and up stepped Barry Hunter who naturally not only missed but also managed to clear the stadium! Legend!!!

Notts County home at EP.
Bloke with the pipe set off the Fire alarm, causing an evacuation from fans in the seated area, who ended up on the pitch.

Gunnarsson hitting the bar in the last minute in that FA Cup replay against Man Utd, what a goal and a comeback that would have been.

+1

Being four nil up against Brighton in a pre-season friendly and spending the rest of the game cheering on Bas in the hope he would score against us.

The Wigan play-off semi 1st leg away,

One of their players runs the whole length of pitch to score,
turns aound in Kenny Dalglish scoring mode arms outstretched ,
only to find that ref had blown for a foul & everyone else had stopped,
to total derision of the orange army taking up the whole the stand,
and the stadium reverberates to the loudest "w@nker, w@nker" as he walks back upthe pitch

soggy biscuit

Going to Upton Park and the whole away end signing 'Trevor Brooking, what a w**ker'. Never seen home fans so outraged, it was like we had spat it gods face

There was an old bloke in the West Ham bit who I thought was going to have a heart attack - so infuriated at the chanting was he!

When that guy charged on the pitch in the Wigan semi-final and tried to windmill Kevin Nicholls.

Didn't land a single punch

Anyone know him or what happened to him?
