On the plus side, it's good to see another black manager in the game.

Will shut Garth Crooks up for a bit at least.

Talking about Garth Crooks, and this is no word of a lie, one of my lecturers at uni looks exactly like Garth and no, not just because he is black!

Premier League - Kean: I have a 24-hour bodyguard

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/24022012/ ... guard.html

Blackburn manager Steve Kean has revealed he has a bodyguard with him at all times.

The 44-year-old has been subjected to vitriolic abuse by Rovers fans angry at events both on and off the pitch at Ewood Park this season.
He told The Times: "I was advised that it would be in my interest to have somebody with me at all times.

"I was at a restaurant with my wife and children a few months ago and got a text message from a friend telling me to be careful. There was stuff going out on Twitter from an activist group which identified the restaurant so that people could confront me.

"I showed the text to my wife and we decided to leave straightaway. We didn't tell the children because we didn't want to frighten them. We just said that there was a good place around the corner where we could get pudding.

"The chap who protects me is a seventh dan in karate, but he is not big or butch or anything. He knows how to handle himself. It is a bit strange having him around but there are some good things too. He is bloody interesting to talk to, for a start."

Tip to Steve Kean. If you're going to eat out, do it in Burnley, you'll get a friendlier welcome.

Sheff Wed sack Megson, they're third, and just beat local rivals at the weekend! Now, I know he's not the greatest manager, but what the hell is Mandaric thinking? Has he got Arry lined up to join or something?

Mourhino is looking for a job over here apparently....Chelsea have never been the same since he was sacked, what with sacking further managers whilst in second place etc....

With that attitude at Sheff Weds, he should feel right at home there

It's not gone down well with a lot of their fans though. :| Even Mandaric has asked the fans to trust his judgement on this one.

The ones I was with last night as the news came through were shocked and gutted. Having been at the derby game they started the evening buzzing about what a great experience it was, the atmosphere and noise were fantastic and Hillsborough was shaking to its foundations apparently - then at about 8.30 somebody texted them the news...... it was quite funny actually.

They know the football wasn't great but they actually really really like Megson and were confident he would, at the very least, take them up via the play offs. All their cronies felt the same way apparently.

Oh and btw, they thought Antonio was superb! A real star in the making.... (make of that what you will!)

At least Mandaric had this all arranged before sacking Megson, unlike Wolves and McCarthy. Jones was spotted in Sheffield with Mandaric a week before the sacking. It might be harsh on Megson, but at least the club acted smartly, unlike some, and can now kick on and go for promotion with a sound manager in charge.

This has happened suspiciously quickly after Meggo's departure. Hmmmm, makes me wonder if contact was made before the sacking. I never had Jones down as the shifty, something-to-hide type.

In fairness to him, he gave us all their bottles of champagne, they bought to celebrate with, after we beat them 3-0 in the play off semi final
