Edelston & Brice Hi Cape Town - greetings from one newbie to another.

Yes, it was Sanchez who scored at the Shay on 13th April 1984 before a crowd which just about crept into 4 figures. That season was our last in the dreaded Division 4.

my first away game - Derby v Reading December 2010.

Amazing is all I can say... Scoring the winner in the 88th minute was insanely awesome! Made the hard travel there more worth it. It was great to see the start of Long's amazing run.

Thanks all...

I seem to recall we had a corner and Sanchez flicked it on at the near post and it went in the far corner.. Ironic really - Maybe he was practicising for bigger stages?

Crap ground no atmosphere... I took 4 mates from Donny who I stayed with that weekend. Bizarrely we were battling with them for promotion that year and I had met them at York earlier in the season when we drew 2-2 against a York team who were top.. They came to support Reading because they hated York.. I think we all got promoted in the end or maybe Donny missed out.. All I remember is David Crown scoring and from behind me this lad says "Who scarr't garl" (poor Yorkshire attempt)... and getting a shock when they said 'we're alt rovers fans com't t' support Reading'...

Been looking back over the fixtures and I think it would have been;

Sheff Utd 0-1 Reading 04/05 Season
Harper volleying from 20 yards.

Bristol City back in 1995. We won 2-0 and there was a big away crowd. City were already relegated if memory serves.
