Snowball
Z175 It could be brinkmanship with creditors, and part of me cynically expects the FL to pull out all the stops to allow them to compete until 1 May, as the 60m promotion jackpot could lead to a legal mess. The QPR whitewash of last year shows that.

Can't see that one, frankly. It has to be a pretty much standard rule (expunge results etc)
and has happened at most levels

And Wetsham had the income from 2 well attended "friendlies", can't see them paying back their punters for the over-inflated prices forked out.

How many times have clubs not finished a season and results expunged?

Also doing the rounds on football rumours (not reliable I know, but..) that they are at advanced stages of forming a new club to start in the lower reaches of the pyramid.

...Seems the concensus would be that they will 'fold' the club after saturdays game with Boro'.

Pity the Boro fans making the trip for a friendly, not sure I can be arsed with Tuesday for a friendly.

Surely you can be arsed just for lols we'll have at thier expense? We owe them for putting out a weakened team when we were relegated.

Point well made...i think my mind had chosen to banish that memory, but it would make up for it in some small way I suppose.

It happened to Accrington and Aldershot and possibly Maidstone though I'm not sure about them.

Most annoying thing is that if we thump Pompey on Tuesday we then lose the three points.

I wonder what happens to season ticket holders of clubs who won't now get the home fixture against them.

Maidstone went bust just before the season started. We were due to play them in Lge Cup.

As for you latter point if that happens I shall be going for unsecured creditor status with Trevor Birch. Do join me in a class action. We'll get three tenths of f all.

Liam Lawrence leaves Pompey for Cardiff on a loan deal.

Wouldn't mind us doing something similar with David Norris.

Pompey are one of my least favourite clubs, but even though they've 'cheated', they've only been doing what 90% of other teams have been doing as well (including us if it wasn't for being able to sell enough cash worth of players to cover it, and that's a gamble).

I agree the football community probably needs a club the size of Pompey to go to the wall for them to realise that it's got out of hand, but I'd still feel a bit sorry for the fans for losing their club. As someone else said earlier in the thread it would be a much better outcome to see them sink through the leagues getting beaten week-in week-out whilst getting their house in order.

So, are the Pompey players currently actually having to pay for the privilege of playing?

Disagree Hoop - the short term pain will be massive, but they'll rise again and the satisfaction of doing so and enjoyment of lots of promotions will more than deal with that come 5-10 years time, for most anyway.

DelBoyRodders Pompey deserve to be liquidated and I hope they are.
They've cheated us all for years.
The Mandaric and Redknapp legacy lives on!

whilst i agree to a point, i do disagree about feeling sorry for their fans. they were more than happy to gloat with their fa cup that they cheated their way too, and still sing about it, even after the last 3 years of two administrations and a failed cva.

what's more, they will reform with a new club and the same fans will support their club, albeit a new club, and like afc wimbledon they will be back in the football league in 10 years time. but they wont have there fa cup honour to crow about!

in short: bollocks to them!

rumours also that they could reform as a new club next season and ground share with waterlooville.
