Avon Royal Anyone who has supported Reading for more than 5 mins knows that this is exactly the type of game that we screw up.

And it's Portsmouth who we never beat.

Any other season I would have agreed with this. I feel that we may get the win over one of our bogey teams .......

And then have the win expunged from the records.

LOL - This is exactly what will happen. West Ham losing 6 pts would soften the blow though.

rhroyal A lot of people seem to be forgetting that we beat them last season. Not such a massive bogey team, although I hate trips to Fratton Park. Thankfully that won't happen again for at least another 10 years.

Wow, so that's about once in 10 years. We're obviously now their bogey team.

I'm with rhoyal on this. Was one of my favourite games of last season; it was pretty tight and Howard had his game of the season. Having beaten 'Boro and Derby in this run so far d'you really think we'd lose to poor old Pompey?

Going for a 4-1

Yeah, we've got an awful record against them and we're due a duff result. Although I'm fervantly hoping win, lose or draw it matters not a jot come the end of the season.

'tis a bit worrying. Hopefully McD will make sure the players presume nothing.

I think I might bet on Pompey scoring first before we win

Take a 1-0 now considering we have a dire record against Pompey.

Indeed. We haven't battered a team all season. 20,000+ on a Tuesday night? Not a chance unless Pompey fill their end.

42-0

But never makes it into Guinness as the record is expunged before the next printing

Only 18k? I'd be very disappointed with that.

This is not going to be as easy as we thought. They are looking to bring in a replacement striker before tomorrows game...he has a couple lined up, but is worried that "some clubs might not want to do business with them."

It's unlikely to be Wayne Rooney so I shouldn't worry.
