Would you re-sign any of the 106ers?

by Cobi » 06 Mar 2012 10:41

Obviously only those still playing, but who if at all would you bring back next season if we were in the Premiership?

Nicky Shorey - We will need a new left back. I can't see Harte continueing, even at this level. Shorey would have the experience we could benefit from.

Steve Sidwell - Again the experience. The engine.

Kevin Doyle - Only because we wont be able to get Long back.

Same. All could do a job but aren't top half Premiership players so we could afford the luxory of not having them trying to get away too, which would be nice.

Doyle's goalscoring record in the Prem is poor though, but with a decent finisher along side him he would be useful.

Would consider Shorey, Sidwell, Long & Doyle

With those in this side we would have won this league in a canter IMO

Just Long-Doyle up front ahead of the current 9 and we'd have ten more points I'd think

He didn't feature in the 106 season. He was about 4 seasons later.

If we went up then Sid and that's it. We are in a new era now need to look elsewhere.

McD will have targets in mind for whatever league we are in.

I wouldn't mind a dabble at Sig but he is beyond us now. I believe he's a top 4 player now

I am particularly looking forward to reading Woodcote Royal's considered opinion on the prospect of us re-signing Shorey.

IN for Sidwell and Doyle. Both far > their equivalents in the current side.

The standard in this league at the moment is so shit that I reckon the 106 team would have finished up with at least a dozen more points if this was all they had to beat at the time. Do we hold the points record for all four divisions? If so that late winner for Charlton at the weekend could blow us out of the water.

Shorey & SHunt can do one. Sidwell, I would welcome back... not sure on Doyle, he was always a bit of good times only striker and Wolves may have ruined him with their constant shit relegation struggles.

Yes we do, Charlton are definitely threatening it big time.

Sidwell, Doyle and Shorey could all do a decent job. I'd not be totally against SHunt either to add depth to the squad.
