If we get promoted this season I can see it, if not, not sure it'll ever happen as he's bound to sign permanently for someone this summer.

I have no idea why Hoffenheim weren't playing Gylfi week-in week-out.

He's a genuine footballing genius.

It hurts every time I see Gylfi on MOTD. The lad oozes class and could easily fit into a top 8 team in the Prem. I would do cartwheels, back flips and all sorts if he ever wore the hoops again. For me, he is the best footballer that we have had or produced.

He's a superior player to the one they spent £20m on as Gerrards heir apparent so perhaps it's not that much of a leap of faith.

I guess then as long as Kenny is on charge and the asking price is high there's a good chance he could end up at Liverpool. No way a top side will go for him though.

I like Sig and I wish he had stayed but you amongst many others really do over hype him. He was dropped for Hoffenheim for a reason...and that wasn't for the lols - there was obviously a valid reason. He's a good player but talks of joining top 6 clubs are wide of the mark at this stage.

I don't watch much PL footie but I would definitely say (from what I've seen) that Gylfi >>> Jordan Henderson.

Would you not agree?

£20m... and £35m on the other lump - fcuking incredible really.

Both will have decent enough careers I'm sure but were never (and never will be) players worthy of those valuations.

But then what do Liverpool care? The Torres of 2010/11/12 was never worth £50m.

Based on what?

Based on what he's capable of and how well he's coped coming into the Swansea side.

Of course there are reasons why he left Hoffenhiem, I've no idea what they are to be fair, but he's shown the potential he's got as a creative force in the couple of months he's been at Swansea and the time he spent with us.

Plenty of good players have left clubs and gone on to better themselves at a higher level. I'm sure there were reasons why Cantona left France and why Sneijder or van der Vaart left Real to then go on and be successful elsewhere.

I don't think Sigurdsson would walk into a top 6 side today, but, if they play the right way for him he could be a very good addition for anyone in the Premier League bar City (who have too many attackers already) and Utd. Could he even prove valuable for even Utd? Yeah, I think it's not stretching it too far to say he'd be a decent understudy for Rooney to play in the hole. He's better than some of the others I've seen playing for Utd over the last couple of years (although in slightly different positions).

He's got the potential to be top class.

Yeah, a very different sort of player. He'll probably be better than Gerrard when he reaches his peak.

This is the biggest load of turd I've read on here. People aren't being misty eyed because he's ex- Reading. Only a matter of time before a CL club takes him. Has Arsenal written all over him. I bloody hope he goes there - would be the perfect fit. The boy is gifted. The Hoffenheim manager is clearly a pcunt.

And Hoffenheim paid £6m for a 21-year old for a reason, and he was taken by an upwardly-mobile premiership team for a reason, and he's scored 5 in 6 for a reason, and he's gaining plaudits and admirers for a reason.... Really, what are you on about?

It's by no means a given, but he's young and he's improving and he has the potential to be reach a level where he's be an asset to any premiership squad. Only problem being I don't think Sunderland, Everton, Villa etc could afford to take that punt at £6m. But Newcastle might, perhaps even Spurs.

"pass, pass, pass, give it to Sigurdsson"
