the move wasn't completed until a short time ago. prior to that all we knew was the player was in talks with the club. the deadline for their transfers was 9pm our time.

FiNeRaIn Agreed, they've shown some ambition - we've clearly still got a few financial issues. For me that signals their intent to be automatic promotion candidates and we'll be knocking around the play-offs before losing in them again.

the bbc "gossip" column claiming this as the day breaks...'arry may be a "wheeler dealer",but if he pulls this one off 'tis justified..

Tottenham will step up their attempts to sign Jan Vertonghen, 24, from Ajax, with sources in Holland claiming £10 could be enough to land the Belgium defender.

So how were they allowed to sign the three players mentioned above if the authorities saw this coming......surely those loans should now be terminated?

why should they? they were brought in before the embargo was put into place. the club saw it coming and rightly acted quickly. fair play to them. action should have been taken against the club (and coventry) sooner.

He's only 26 - he seems to have been around for ages!

Would be a good signing but they need to keep Van Persie

Signing players like Podolski will certainly help in that regard.

He is like Robben!

Except Robben looks about 60 and is 27.

Good signing for Arsenal, he's scored a lot of goals. Him and the other polish striker klose were a very good partnership in yesteryear.

I'd prefer cash myself but at least it'll keep within Arsenal's wage structure.

robbie fowler turned blackpool down after they offered him a pay as you play £1000 a week deal.

i'm giving the mirror the benefit of the doubt here. they were quoted on the sky sports app as offering £100 a week.

The mail have it as £100 a week as well :?

Don't know why they'd want him anyway. Could barely hack it in Australia or Thailand.
