Cant see him coming back. Think there is more chance Swansea would sign him than us. However I think he is now on Man U and Arsenal's radar, which of course he would jump at.
As much as i'd love it if we resigned him....just cant see it.

Friday's Legacy newcastle are very keen.

Can't really see him working as well there tbh, but that would be a fantastic career move for him.

Creative midfielder who scores lots of goals - hardly any of them around. I honestly think if one of the big clubs - by which I loosely mean Man U, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal - don't go for him it would be pretty surprising.

Agreed CC. Think he would have a preference of playing here over in another country as well after his move to Germany didn't plan out. Although if he was actually used it could be different!

Given his current form, it's going to cost more than we received to bring him back to England (or Wales).

Good luck to him - fantastic player.

Got that all wrong.

90th minute free kick to send Swansea down and secure 4th CL spot for the mighty Royals!

Speculation; Gylfi if we go up

by rhroyal » 01 Apr 2012 10:51

Swansea won't be able to afford him, we will have our takeover complete.

He would love to come back, he knows the club and the manager. I could see it happening, even if slightly bigger clubs are in for him. I think only a top 6 or so club would stop him coming here at this relatively early stage in his career.

Gylfi has outgrown Reading. If he doesn't go to a top six club I'd be very surprised.

IF

we go up and

IF

none of the "top 6" or so sides are interested

I reckon we'd get him back

IF

Brian wanted him

He's been Swansea's best player by a mile (again).

It matters not whether we want him - he'll be off to someone better than us or Swansea

John Motson "How did Reading get him? How did they get £7m for him? Why did Hoffenheim let him go on loan?"

He was licking his lips at how good Gylfi was against Spurs, and has been during his loan spell at Swansea. The goals to game ratio speak for themselves.

He is destined for a Liverpool or an Arsenal this summer. Both need to rebuild, and a bargain goalscoring midfielder for £8m cannot be ignored, surely?

What was John Motson rambling about? How did Reading get £7million for him? Well, because he is good, you said so yourself. What a ramble.

I think what Motson was on about is how did we only get £7m for him. Or why did we accept £7m.

We needrf the money and he'd only had one season at championship level.

Yes - even for Motson that was Bollocks of the highest order.
