Big Foot
Big Foot Someone wants to charge you for using their service?

Hang on a minute, did he have a contract with them?

What's he want, a hand written letter from them informing they're doing something within their rights?

You set of tarts

When a service that someone wants to charge you for is advertised as a free service on a massive advertisement emblazoned in clear view of a significant proportion of traffic going to football matches using probably the busiest trunk road that leads to and from Reading town centre, seems fair to me to think that the right is on the customer's side to expect the advertised service to be free. Any charges could easily deem the advertisement as misleading, so therefore it's questionable as to whether smallprint charging is within their rights isn't it?

Ya mongdiv

My point is that when I made my first enquiry had they said "for the time being", or mentioned the game before, we will be making changes I would say fair enough. It was only after parking on Saturday that I was aware.

You can make you own minds up about what suits you, but at least you all know the facts.

BIt of an update. Hotel have apologised and said the Front Desk was incorrect and the parking is complementary regardless of whether you buy a drink or not. I'm really pleasently suprised and fair play to them !

Dear Big Foot,

As replied to via tripadvisor I have apologised for this and for the confusion, we have become a venue which hosts many of the supporters for both pre and post match drinks and have not encountered this issue since. As a further apology I would like to offer you to contact me directly should you feel the matter still has not been handled in an appropriate manner.

Anywhere that is free if you don't mind the walk. Bennett Road and heading towards the Basingstoke Road is ok if you get there early. I park down the road running parallel to Basingstoke Road with no issues.

I always park at the gravel car park at the Basingstoke Rd end of Acre Rd. I have to be there by 13:40 to get a space but I always get one, and then it's just a 10 minute walk to the stadium.

Personally I can't think of any more convenient way to get from deepest Gloucestershire to Reading!

Thanks to one brain cell Cameron and his mates sparking off panic buying with their clueless statements, you may have to find one.
