Wimb
melonhead why?

If that's for me....

I just think there's something about Cummings that isn't right at the moment. I know he was named in team of the week against Leicester but the fact McDermott signed Connolly then kept him in the team for so long makes me think he's either carrying a bit of a knock or that Brian wants some experience in the back line.

Just a bit of a hunch really, I don't mind Cummings, I think he's had a decent season and has good potential but I could understand the move.

connolly came in, and we kept winning. is why he was kept in the team.
only the very best/most experienced players step right back into the team under brian.

im happy either way, i just think cummings has had a decent season.(a couple of mistakes in his last two games aside)

Cobi
URZZ And on that note, looks like he's playing RB here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2vt02S-zTA

Lovely finish

He can cover anywhere in defence but as long as Connolly and/or Cummings are fit then don't expect him to play at RB. Perhaps you should have done to Donny to see him put in a decent performance, rather than knock him for Saturday's and speculate he will be dropped?

Lool.

If you read my comment properly, I put under performing in ''s. I was going by what Big Foot said. I like Cummings, rate the boy very much

Massive LOL @ the whole football transfer window thing. Presumably this is an 'emergency loan'. What specifically is the 'emergency' here? We unexpectedly find ourselves in the title race?

Archie's penalty Yep. Good signing. Can't see any flaw in this, apart from the outflow of a few coppers.

So you see paying wages a bit of a flaw, eh?

Oh well.

When, oh when, are we going to sign someone with a proper footballer's name? Now we've added Hayden to Jem, Hal, Noel, Simon, Ian, Adam, Jay, Alex, Kaspars, Matthew, Mikele ... thank goodness we've at least got a Jimmy.

Which part of Reading is he from? With a name like that, you'd suspect Woodley.

What I like about this thread is that no one knows what Brian is going to do with Mullins, or even if he will be first choice. All part of the Zen Brian way. I declare this signing a masterstroke, without having a clue why.

anyone else slightly concerned that we amassing a ageing squad?

ages of players next season - as we dont know how mullins will fit it not sure if we can class him as first team but we could have 8 out what i would consider first team players fast approaching 30 or over

I would think it's an emergency for Portsmouth.

There's aging and aging. Ingimarsson was deemed too old, and Jewell made a mistake in signing him from us: Brian doesn't seem to make that sort of mistake. Roberts, Harte, Griffin, and, presumably, Mullins (if we sign him permanently), won't be on the sort of contracts that go on for long. When we had an inexperienced squad under Rodgers we struggled. The older players we're fielding seem to be doing better than the likes of JMills, Antonio ... and we still do have some relative youngsters in Feds, Karacan, Pearce, Robson-Kanu, and Cummings. Brian appears to like buying players who got promoted from this division in the past, which is where their experience is significant.
