Dean Morgan

by Royalwaster » 16 Mar 2012 13:26

... has joined Oxford on loan. Remember him? Looked skillful but a right old chav and with attitude problems. Seemed to do OK with Luton. Surprised to see he's only 26 - thought he'd be older than that.

My abiding memory of Dean Morgan is him "warming up" infront of the East Stand at half time by showing off his ball juggling skills, only for Mr Woo to come out and show him up spectacularly, with Morgan stopping and just staring in amazement.

It tickled me at the time, and it's a pleasantly amusing memory still.

Instead of Madejski walking onto the pitch and putting the ball on the centre spot a la Leicester, could we get Mr Woof to do it?

My only memory is of him scoring for Luton against us to end our 34 game run.

Pretty much the only positive post here and what a great night that was - three different referees iirc?! Only time I've seen that live anyway.

I say great, it was at the very least quite interesting.

RIP terraces

He was the first player I recognised as having an inappropriate number of visible tattoos.

That was the highlight of his career for me.

Here in Chesterfield, he has followed a similar pattern to his RFC career. Looked good at the start, CFC fans very excited after signing him due to his obvious talent at League 2 level...promotion followed.....In League 1 Morgan has shown a lack of consistency, leading to frustration from the fans and finally a falling out with the manager..... and now going out on loan somewhere else.

Neck tattoos on a footballer do kind of say "out on licence".

Always came across as a one trick pony, lots of tricks and flicks but no real grasp of how to play a team game.

My abiding memory is the friendly at Didcot when he was looking to push for a first team place, got brought on at half time and got subbed 20 mins later to allow a fan to play after winning a competition. Classic.

Remember him starting a fight out of a pretty innocuous tackle in a reserve match against Aldersh1t involving everyone on both sides and the two benches.
