grey_squirrel 1. Gorkss
2. Pearce
3. Fed or Karacan

Agree with the posters, Pearce has only turned his game and gained greater confidence because of the presence of Gorkss

hes been great every time hes had a run of games in a settled defence.

1. Jem Karacan
2. Kaspars Gorkss
3. Adam Federici

(4. Alex Pearce)

All 4 have been awesome this year so tbh any would be a worthy winner.

Surprised to see Pearce way ahead of Gorkss to be honest.

I reckon it's the local link (or racism, if you will)

Personally i'm amazed Karacan is so high. Just don't see it myself, although I guess fans do love a tryer.

Stuka A tough call this year, as so many players have impressed but I've gone for Feds. He works as hard as ever and is a spirited goalie. Lots of clean sheets, I've noticed many great saves. Of course he's part of a strong defensive setup overall but I'd like to give him my vote.

A close thing between several players but with two kids who are full paid up members of the GKU, I have to go for Feds.

This is the same set of fans that voted Harper > Forster in our man man show season in 02/03 remember, so Im not that surprised. Not to mention Quinn being outvoted by Kerr despite scoring 40 (Forty) goals.

Two examples of complete mentalism on behalf of our fans. The Harper one gr8ed with me so much as Forster clearly carried that side.

Yeah, and he's been through the Academy which is bound to give him a boost (cf Pearce).

The irony being (given the 02/03 debacle) that Harper really should have won it 07/08.

Pearce wins for goal celebrations alone

I actually think Pearce is more solid than Gorkss anyway. I've seen quite a few, although mostly very small, mistakes made by Gorkss. Misplaced passes, bad touches occasionally and *THAT* mistake vs Southampton. Don't get me wrong, I still think he's an excellent defender but if either one was to get POTS it would be Pearce for the fact that he so seldom makes these mistakes.

Also Pearce goes as nuts as I do when we score.

Gorkss for me because of his sheer consistency. His arrival has turned our defence into one of the best in the Championship.

Pearce has scored some valuable goals but was average before Gorkss arrived, and still gives away a lot of possession cheaply.

pearce has been great whenever hes had a decent partner- he was average alongside khumalo at the start of the season
and id say his ball retention, and passing have improved imeasurably this season, now he is confident that hes not going to have to cover his partners mistakes

Nonsense. There's a reason he wasn't breaking up that Mills/AK partnership.

He's got better by playing next to Gorkss who is, for my money, better than the other two I just mentioned.
