RockheadRumple Don't really want to sign him to be honest. What's it gonna do for the confidence of Church/LeFondre? I would rather we played Karl Sheppard.

Alright then, what about Manset like TBM alluded to earlier? Had we not loaned him out we'd have a few more options and Manset is proven. I'll happily eat my words if this kid turns out to be very good but I can't help feeling anxious about suddenly signing/loaning a ton of players even with TSI's backing.

The Royals are pleased to annoucne the signing of England youth international forward Benik Afobe on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.
19-year-old Afobe can play both up front and out wide, and he will aim to be involved when we take on Blackpool at Madejski Stadium this coming Saturday, kick off 3pm. He signed paperwork at Hogwood Park this morning and trains with his new teammates for the first time today, ahead of an important match this weekend.
London-born Benik has come through the Arsenal Academy, and importantly gained Football League experience last season during two spells out on loan with Huddersfield. He scored eight times and created a further ten goals in 21(+14) games, averaging a goal or assist every 114 minutes on the pitch.
He also went 23 games unbeaten for the Terriers before their play-off final defeat to Peterborough.
McDermott told readingfc.co.uk, "We're delighted to have him, he wanted to come here and that was important because he had other options.
"We know him very well, we have watched him from a very young age. He's played a lot of games for England right up to the under 19s and then out on loan last season as well.
"He's a good addition to the squad and will help us with eight games to go."
Director of Football Nick Hammond added, "Benik is a talented young player that we have known for some time.
"He is very highly thought of at Arsenal, he is versatile and can play both through the middle or out wide. He's also a fantastic boy so is a good addition to the group for the run-in."
Benik signed a contract extension at the Emirates prior to the start of this season, and worked back to fitness last month after a six-month injury lay-off, featuring for Arsenal's reserves since a goalscoring second-string return against Norwich in February.
