Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Boro (A) Sat 25 Feb --read on...

Late-breaking stuff on Saturday's match away to Middlesbrough --here's what I got...

It'll screen live in a few places on the continent and on FoxSoccer2Go.com (subscription/stream) in the States; KO is 10:00 AM Eastern U.S. time (7:00 on the West Coast)

In Canada, Sportsnet Plus will have it on same-day delay from 4:00 PM (Eastern Time, I presume; check guides)

Back in the States, Fox Soccer Plus also will have it on SDD from 6:00 PM Eastern --and while FS+ is a premium subscription channel, DirecTV are offering a free preview of FS+ this week thru Sunday on Channel 621

So as part of the free preview, FS+ will have Thursday's Derby v. Leicester clash live from 2:45 PM EST and a few times more again on delay, and the featured Championship match of the weekend is West Ham v. Palace from 7:45 AM on Saturday (there's no tea time KO in the Championship this Saturday, but I'll note here that regular ol' FSC will have Cardiff v. Liverpool in the League Cup final from 11:00 AM Eastern on Sunday)

FS+ has repeat screenings of our match away to Boro scheduled for 4:00 AM on Monday the 27th and for 11:00 AM on Wednesday the 29th (times Eastern, and neither of these are included within the free preview frame; subscribers only)

Looking ahead: I'll re-post the stuff about the staggered returns to summer time and correct conversions below herein, but first I wanted to mention that we've had two of our matches moved by Sky for UK TV, and that has implications for this side of the puddle; they are:

Leeds United (H) on Good Friday 6 April from 9:00 AM Eastern U.S. time (note the unusual 2:00 PM KO local time) is not currently scheduled to screen here, and there are several other Championship matches going on the day (two from 3:00 BST and another from 5:15 PM, plus Swansea v. Newcastle from 4:30); Fox Soccer Plus may end up with it, we'll keep an eye peeled and report anything that we know as soon as we do

Southampton (A) on Friday 13 April from 2:45 PM Eastern U.S. time (7:45 PM local time) a week later is a stand-alone fixture and looks good for a live screening on FS+; we have no confirmation yet, and seven weeks' wait from now for the match to kick off in any case, but of course will advise

Neither of the two will be affected by oddball UK-US time conversions in effect for the fortnight between 11 and 24 March; once again, here's how that mess sorts out, with affected fixtures (for which the U.S. audience will have an additional hour's wait for the day's action to kick off) denoted in bold:

10 March (SAT) --Reading v. Leicester City, KO at the normal 3:00 PM GMT/10:00 AM U.S. EST
11 March (SUN) --U.S. wakes up to Daylight Saving Time with clocks moved forward by one hour
13 March (TUE) --Doncaster Rovers v. Reading, KO 7:45 PM GMT/3:45 U.S. EDT (fixture rearranged from 4 February)
17 March (SAT) --Barnsley v. Reading, KO 3:00 PM GMT/11:00 U.S. EDT
20 March (TUE) --Peterborough United v. Reading, KO 7:45 PM GMT/3:45 PM U.S. EDT
24 March (SAT) --Reading v. Blackpool, KO 3:00 PM GMT/11:00 AM U.S. EDT

25 March (SUN) --UK/EU go on Summer Time overnite; normal time conversions resume
31 March (SAT) --West Ham United v. Reading, KO at the normal 3:00 PM BST/10:00 AM U.S. EDT

Lastly: Edit mode appears to have been disenabled on here, so I can't go on the thread starter to change the title to reflect current reality ::fume:: --anybody know anything about this?

Anyway, very pleased to see that you'll be sticking around for a while, Bri --big fan, yo

Updates as appropriate, then; ciao for now

jgriowa Just saw that the Reading - Blackpool match will be streamed live. http://www.foxsoccer2go.com/

Well spotted, Hawkeye ::thumb^::

Of course, that's only of direct use to paid subscribers to FS2G...

...but on the other hand, the match will be streaming live on planet Earth, which is something worth knowing these days

Still entirely on, by the way, for live screenings of Leeds at home and Saints away on Fox Soccer Plus on the first two Fridays in April; I'll update all of that with times of repeat screenings and whatnot as we get closer to 'em (and am holding out hope that Brighton away on the Tuesday in between might get added --light slate of action that day, no Champions League; we'll see)

Saturday's Blackpool KO is 1500 GMT/1100 EDT/1000 CDT/0800 PDT by the way; if you're in the States, you've got an extra hour

The UK and EU revert to Summer Time overnite on this Saturday/Sunday, whereupon it'll be back to normal time conversions until October

Again thanks jgr

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: next two Fridays live on FS+

by RoyalChicagoFC » 02 Apr 2012 23:25

Right --as we've known for a while, and with no intervening changes, our next two are set for live screenings on the Fox Soccer Plus premium subscription cable/satellite channel (and both live and on-demand thereafter for subscribers to the FoxSoccer2Go streaming platform)

Both are Friday fixtures, and this week's goes before noon in all U.S. time zones; the specifics as we now know them:

Friday 6 April Leeds United(H)

--KO 2:00 PM Madejski Time/9:00 AM U.S. Eastern/8:00 AM Central/6:00 AM West Coast

--Live screening on FS+

--Single repeat screening same day from midnite EDT/11:00 PM CDT/9:00 PM PDT; no additional repeats scheduled

--FS+ also will have Barnsley v. West Ham live on Friday from 12:15 PM EDT/11:15 AM CDT/9:15 AM PDT

On the following Friday-- Southampton (A)

--KO 7:45 PM Madejski Time/2:45 PM EDT/1:45 PM CDT/11:45 AM PT

--Live screening on FS+

--Single repeat screening same day from 9:00 PM EDT/8:00 PM CDT/6:00 PM PDT; additional repeats now appear on the FS+ schedule for the middle of the following, but that looks dubious, and I'll update it next week

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Southampton (A) LIVE on FS+

by RoyalChicagoFC » 11 Apr 2012 23:23

What we already knew, then--

Southampton (A) live this Friday on the Fox Soccer Plus premium subscription channel (621 on DirecTV and available on a multitude of other satellite and cable packages, plus via streaming subscription on FoxSoccer2Go.com)

KO is 1945 at St Mary's/2:45 PM Eastern U.S. time/1:45 PM Central/11:45 AM on the West Coast

Just the one same-day repeat screening on FS+ from 9:00 PM Eastern/8:00 Central/6:00 Pacific

Also one on there for next Wednesday from 5:00 PM Eastern, but it'll be old news by then

The Championship-insatiable will be pleased to note that FS+ also have a pair of delayed screenings of West Ham v. Brighton on their schedule --both on this Sunday from 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern (it's a Saturday match)

FS+ also have the season's final day, 28 April, blocked for a featured Championship match from 7:30 AM Eastern/6:30 Central/4:30 Pacific (at which time all matches in the division are scheduled to kick off); they'll select a specific match to screen when it makes sense for them to do so

Onward

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: As we approach the wire...

Hiya

First, it was brought to my attention that Fox Soccer Plus had a delayed screening of Saturday's final home match of the season against Palace in their listings for Sunday; this no longer seems to be the case, and I've checked everywhere

However, Al-Jazeera will be screening the match live and on delay on a few of its platforms across the globe, and some outfit in Norway is said to have it live

So y'all more or less know what to do, and I don't reckon that anything more need be said about it here

Here's what I do know: FoxSoccer2Go.com will be streaming Bristol City v. Barnsley live on Saturday from 10:00 AM Eastern

After that, FS2Go will have a live stream of Middlesbrough v. Southampton from 12:20 PM Eastern, and Fox Soccer Plus (DirecTV Channel 621, and elsewhere) will screen it first-time delayed on Saturday from 4:00 PM EDT

On Monday --in case anyone cares-- FS2Go will stream Leicester v. West Ham live from 2:45 PM Eastern; that one also will screen live on Fox Soccer Plus and repeat on FS+ from 9:00 PM EDT

Reminding that FS2Go is subscription-based, and so again --one will do as one does

This brings us to Saturday week 28 April --the final day of the season

As ever, all of the day's kick-offs in the division will go at once --from 12:30 PM BST, 7:30 AM EDT, 6:30 AM CDT and 4:30 AM PDT

Fox Soccer Plus have two hours blocked for a Championship match to be named once it's clear what's at stake on the final day; much of the division's critical business is settled already, with the application of finishing touches the primary remaining business and more to be sorted over the looming weekend

For the final day, I have to reckon Brum v. RFC is in the frame for now; also Saints v. Bristol City (with the latter perhaps still relegation-imperiled once the day arrives), West Ham v. Hull and, as it stands now, any of Palace v. Cardiff, Millwall v. Blackpool, and Watford v. Boro; we'll find out soon enough

Beyond that, expect the play-offs in all League divisions to screen live on Fox Soccer Plus, with the finals in the lower two also live on FS+ and, if last year is any guide, the Championship final much more widely accessible on regular ol' Fox Soccer Channel

For next season, it's fair to say that just about every Premier League match screens in full at one time or another --whether that be ESPN2 for the early Saturday and Monday nite kick-offs (plus some midweek fare) and the ESPN3 stream platform (accessible Stateside at watchespn.com) or Fox Soccer Channel/Fox Soccer Plus and, for live and archived streams, FoxSoccer2Go

I'm not here to tout for anyone or anything, and least of all any Murdoch property, but U.S.-based fans might want to give some thought to a subscription to FoxSoccer2Go to last thru the entirety of the 2012/13 season (and you'll get a whole bunch of other stuff, including on-demand archived streams of other Prem fare, Champions League, Serie A, France, domestic cups, egg chasing, etc)

I'd suggest swinging by there and having a butcher's --it's priced at $169 for a year right now, and you can pay it off in monthly installments

Anyway that's where it stands; I'll update once FS+ names the match to screen live on the 28th

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Hail and farewell

Brum v. RFC: nyet

Fox Soccer Plus will have...Saints v. Coventry live, as a matter of fact (7:30 AM Eastern; 4:30 out west)

West Ham v. Hull will screen on delay from 4:00 PM EDT/1:00 PDT on FS+ in case anyone cares enough to watch

Both of those, along with Palace v. Cardiff, will stream live on the FoxSoccer2Go.com subscription site and be available thereafter in the on-demand archive

Reminding that promotion play-off semifinals and finals for all Football League divisions should screen live on FS+/FS2Go.com; regular ol' Fox Soccer Channel had the Championship PO final last season and may do again this; check guides

For more detail on arrangements for next season, scroll up to the final section of the post immediately preceding this one

In short, pretty much every match will screen/stream somewhere/sometime, and all on the legit --with many if not most going into an on-demand archive; welcome back to the big league

It'll cost money in the form of a subscription and/or going out to a pub for accompanying bevs/eats (or, in the alternative, malware gacking up your C:\ and necessit8ing a trip to the 'puter doc)

In the meantime, the ESPN networks will bring the Euros to the States live and in full, with repeat screenings (and ESPN3 at watchespn.com will stream 'em live and then chuck 'em right into the archive tank)

And so with that, hats off to the champions and have a nice summer; that is all
