southbank1871
cmonurz Dominic King is right, Dalgish IS the right man for Anfield.

I genuinely don't know how anyone can truly believe this. What has Dalglish done since his return to give any indication that he can turn Liverpool into serious contenders again? He's at risk of tarnishing his legendary status at this r8 and there's a few Liverpool fans I've spoken to who agree.

There can’t be many fans who want a return to the team Hodgson was fielding, with one full-back, Ryan Babel the only winger, and Dirk Kuyt on his own up front.

Last season when Dalglish came in Liverpool has had good a record as anyone in the league.

Add in the cup runs, you can’t under-estimate the impact a cup win could have on the club. And that Liverpool have competed with and beaten the best sides this season.

There has been progress, but Liverpool are light years behind the Manchester clubs, and that isn’t going to change in the foreseeable future.

If Swansea, Sunderland, Everton, Stoke, Fulham, West Brom, Norwich & Villa turned half their draws into wins then they'd all overtake Liverpool who would sit nicely just above Blackburn.

Fine margins.

True, the difference being that you wouldn't expect those teams to necessarily beat the others mentioned. Liverpool at Anfield, you would.

The context was Liverpool and their (non) success. Still, don't miss a chance to make a pointless remark, eh?

If Man Utd relied solely on support from Manchester, they would struggle to fill the Etihad Stadium...

Liverpool - a cup team. When you haven't won the league for 22 years, I'm afraid that's what you are. ALOLan Hansen.

Fair point. 5 European Cups >>>> 0 European Cups.

CFC - founded 1905. Ist League title - 1955 = 50 years. Next League title = 2005, another 50 years. Not one, but TWO runs of "when you haven't won the title for 50 years".

As any LFC fan might say - come back when you've won 18 titles. Only MU have the bragging rights on that one.

Very much so, what does a Liverpool thread have to do with Chelsea or their fans. Are they trying to form another one way rivalry? They should just stick to the 'Free Flags derby' El Plastico with City.

I guess there'll be another club somewhere daft enough to make him Director of Football for a season.

And a MASSIVE :D :D :D at the first caller to 606 this evening, a Liverpool fan who said that Wigan's performance was being hyped up by the media, and that apart for 10 minutes were they made Liverpool chase shadows (at Anfield remember...) Liverpool totally dominated the game.

Classy call I thought; nothing like giving the team that beat you a BIT of praise mate.....
