MmmMonsterMunch RL I wanted to say hi & introduce myself but couldn't see you. We were right by the corner flag on the left. Was a crap view too. Note to self - ring up for future tickets here & get higher up.

Whole game was a blur - really couldn't get a good view of anything but massively enjoyable nonetheless.

So was I!!!! We were seats 33-36 - you?

We were 11-12 literally at the corner flag.

Awww shame we missed each other then - you probably heard my hysterical foul mouth at some point though.

Don't worry my potty mouth was just as bad. Haha. Covered in bruises this morning but all worth it. I actually resorted to standing on my seat to watch some of the game as could barely see a thing.

We made sure we stood the entire game so apologies to those behind us...well kind of.

Everyone stood. They are the worst seats I've ever had the misfortune to sit in, and that includes QPR and their non-existent leg room! £32 for that was diabolical.

Royal Lady Errrr yeah - cheers for that Rother - I was there and I've already said the first part of the first half we were in awe of them but their goal just galvanised us to settle down and play how we know we can. :|

You said it was one of the best games we've played in a long time. Not taking issue with that, just pointing out that we were over-run and outplayed for the 1st 40 minutes.

You are difficult to fathom sometimes.

-I f*cked my left leg when Hunt's goal went in. Pandemonium.

Was down in the concourse when Hunt put us 2-1 up. One of the best goal celebratory moments ever!

Ours was great. We discussed this on way home and it does seem that those with most royalty points get a raw deal because on first allocations most clubs start selling in a corner and move across. 4 people we went with were in first band of royalty points and were in the corner. We were on day 3 and were right behind the goal 20 rows up!!

I don't wish to labour the point, but I know we were outplayed most of the first half - this does not detract from the fact that it was one of the best games I've seen us play in a long time. I didn't say it was one of the best games we'd played. Cheers then.

Yet again a cracking result from a highly efficient and hard working winning machine that McDermott has put together.

It's obviously a massive result and although it's not mathematically there yet it does mean we're going to have to cock it right up not to go up now.

West Ham - View from the other side...

by Binfield Royal » 01 Apr 2012 09:59

I was at the game in the Bobby Moore lower - not in with the mongs but just above, having been lucky to get 2 tickets through a client.

Firstly, we could see the Reading from the other end. Full section, fantastically lively and loud - a credit to our club and I am certain the team loved it.

The main point though, was the mongs. They are all SO ANGRY! They were going to kill everyone, everytime a throw in didn't go their way, or we dispossessed one of their players, or if the ref gave a decision our way, in fact, if anything at all didn't fall for Wet Sham, they we so worked up, they were going to tear anything or any one who was not one of them into shreds - I mean it, you cannot believe the level of hatred and vitriol. It was effin C this and effin C that - non stop.

Passionate - certainly but in a totally negative, frightening and scary way. These people were so worked up it was hard not to think they would be having a heart attack very soon.

The best bit however, was after the final whistle. Jason Roberts (total oxf*rd hero that he is) walked along the by line in front of the animals, with a huge grin on his face and nodding at them. It sent them mental - they were going to F ing kill him, his family, everyone he'd ever met, everyone from Berkshire and one C wouldn't wait on the next. Jason knew they were impotent and laughed in their faces. Ledge...

Three points and without doubt, the moral high ground were on that coach back to Berkshire.

Proud to be a Royals fan!

What a day out. Pissed by about midday.

On the first goal I went to hug the bloke next to me and accidentally twatted his mum in the eye but she said it was OK.

On the second goal I jumped onto the chair in front of me and it broke.

On the final goal I took my socks off and donated them to Wet Sham stewards.

Bill Oddie at half time was immense, best atmosphere since Man City.

I didn't say you'd said it was one of the best games we'd played.... not everyone is trying to pick a fight with you you know.

Oh, ffs, why am I bothering. You could find reason to argue with a fcuking dinner plate.

I think Jason Roberts must feed off this energy. I watched on TV and he looked in a state of total ecstasy whenever the camera showed him close up.

I've been staying on the Isle of Dogs for the best part of a year, and have taken the opportunity to see us at Crystal Palace, Millwall and West Ham. Living where I do, I've got to know quite a few West Ham fans and I find them, on the whole, to be no different to fans of any club. They are passionate and blinkered. The really sad thing about them is that they have unrealistic expectations about their position in English football, seeing as how none of them were born when West Ham were good (a bit like Liverpool fans). Having said that, the ones I know have all said that if we go up and they don't (if??) it will be because we deserve it and they don't. Their real problem is that they have average players who are on PL wages. As well as boosting expectations, this also makes ticket prices stupidly high. I paid £41 to sit in the Alpari stand!!! It was at the W Ham fans 'end' and I had a good view . I could see that the penalty was nailed on, and that Hunt wasn't offside. I could also see that the ball was definitely played out before our fifth 'goal'. I was expecting to be surrounded by W Ham fans, but the three or four rows in front of us were empty.

As for the game, I can't really say much more than has already been said. I thought that we were going to be overrun with the way the game started. We were bad and they were good. The best I hoped for during the first half-hour was a draw. When we went in at half-time 2-1 up, I knew we were going to win. Even when their second went in, I just knew it!!

The Reading fans were immense and the noise coming from that end of the ground was as good as I've heard from any away fans. Even when we were losing, we still managed to sing a bit. It was better when we were ahead, of course!! The difference between the teams was that we looked like we really wanted it, whereas W Ham never looked up for it after they went behind. W Ham were also very dirty and cynical in the way they tried to intimidate Reading. Kebe took a lot of stick, as did Roberts, but they just got on with the game. For this reason, I wish that the penalty hadn't been given and Kebe's goal had stood.
