Fine I'm wrong...gaining one extra point on your main promotion rivals is dropping 2 you might have got....

Given that WHU have won 2 from the last 9 - them now getting four wins on the spin seems unrealistic. At best they'll get another 10 points leaving them on 86.

If we can get to 87, that will definitely be enough although I suspect 85/86 would do it.

Avon Royal Good result for West Ham.

Pressure on us now to get something tomorrow.

Nice try

Sorry, but I genuinely think that a draw is a good (not a great) result for West Ham.

We need to get something from either Brighton or Southampton otherwise West Ham will have the chance to go above us on Saturday.

Tonight's result is great for Southampton as they won today, before it is a good result for us we need to win tomorrow.

I have to say that, whilst automatic is obviously in our sights, IF we end up in the Play-Offs, looking at who else is likely to be in it, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

No win in 7 home games is not a good result. Thought it was a nailed on WHU win anyway?

Kitsondinho Does Don Goodman know what a draw is? If we draw on Friday, niether of us have dropped points.

Surely we've both dropped two ?

Not in the context of being IN FRONT of WHU....who need to BEAT OUR/SAINTS points total!!

I'm with Kitsondinho on this one.

Apart from us of course! We don't do play-offs.

But if we miss out on automatic promotion now, chances are it's going to be by a slim margin and possibly on the last day of the season. Add that to our frankly pathetic record in the play-offs and I think you can write us off.

It would have been if they had been awarded all the penalties they should have got.

What I like is how the Sky pundits were stating how difficult it was going to be for us tomorrow night, and then in the next breath, seemed to already be giving West Ham 3 points for their next game.....a home game against BHA!

How does that work then?

I would rather see us win tomorrow night than on Friday to be honest. Being 6 clear of WHU with 4 games left would be nice. I'm sure knowing they've dropped points again tonight will spur us on.

Then you're wrong!

A draw is two points dropped by each team. If Reading v saints is a draw, and West Ham win their game in hand they will have made up two points against both us and Saints.

I think we have the strength of character in the squad now with Roberts and Gorkss coming in to overcome that disappointment though.

At the end of the day the play-offs are a lottery. If we're in them we'll have a 1/4 chance of going up. But, there's nobody in them that we should fear.

They had a massively WHU biased panel there though. WHU have Brighton & then Leicester next don't they? They are not easy games at all. Then they are playing a team fighting for their lives in Bristol City, whilst we go on to 2 home games against teams with little to play for. Keep the faith.

It's still the assumption that West Ham will fairly comfortably gain automatic promotion. Curbishley almost scoffed at the idea that they won't win their remaining 2 home games, despite not having won their last 7. I'm not really complaining and I shouldn't be surprised, but despite our form, the media still underestimate us and completely overestimate West Ham's chances.

How do 3 points against Brighton put us further ahead of West Ham than 3 points against Southampton? :|
