Big Foot
Friday's Legacy
Hoop Blah I'd agree with Snowball that Friday is the more important fixture

Couln't disagree more. Win tonight and we're 6 points clear of West Ham. We could afford to lose on Friday and then the pressure is on West Ham to claim back 3 points before we then have two back-to-back home games. Tonight is the more important result IMO.

Tokyo Sex Whale Felt confident about Wet Sham and Dirty Leeds, not too nervous about Southampton either - Brighton is giving me butterflies.

Makes a change from Brighton giving people Aids.

I basically can't think about anything other than different permutations of results. And playing into my nervousness is a worry about getting tickets for Birmingham.

Last time I felt like this about Reading was 2000/2001.

I'm way more nervous than I was for the play off final. And I have 5 games to suffer! Times like this I wish I was in to fishing not football.

Yep.

About 80 minutes in to the Brum game last night I just thought that football really isn't worth the stress.

Of course, that's just not true though is it?

Brighton have slipped out of the play-off spots so they have nothing much to lose apart from trying to go for a good win which will suit our style of play. I hope.

Personally I think it's pointless worrying about points permutations on a game by game basis. All games are worth three points and results never pan out as you think they will - win at Southampton, lose to Forest, that kind of weirdness.

Not worried about the team - we have a much stronger squad than in January so we can cope.

It is pointless. Sadly there are a lot of pointless things that I can't seem to stop myself from doing.

Brighton's match thread - http://www.northstandchat.com/showthrea ... tch-Thread

Reading visit the Amex for the first time in the middle of three tricky and consecutive away games against the top clubs in the Championship. All big games for them. Following their 4-2 deserved win at Upton Park, their visit to play Brighton is followed by a trip to league leaders Southampton.

Official - Leeds was a nightmare then.

Midfielder Matt Sparrow has completed a two-match ban and is available for Brighton against Reading.
Fellow midfielder Liam Bridcutt remains suspended, while youngster Abdul Razak has gone back to Manchester City after Gary Dicker proved his fitness.

Not sure if this should be here, or in another thread: but if Reading win tomorrow they will have picked up 18 more points than Southampton in the last 25 games. You’ve got to admit, that’s outstanding!!!

This is pornography for Snowball:

Albion's Disciplinary Record 2011-12 True facts 9 April 2012

fouls committed - 412
average per game - 10.05
fouls suffered - 537
average per game - 13.10
yellow cards - 83 Opposition 100
red cards - 8 Opposition 3

cf. Reading

fouls committed - 421
average per game - 10.27
fouls suffered - 389
average per game - 9.49
yellow cards - 53 opposition 72
red cards - 0 opposition 5

But the most important stats are the goalscoring/defending:

Albion:

Shots on target - 183
Goals scored - 49
% shots scored - 26.78
Opp Shots on target - 221
Opp Goals scored - 42
% Opp shots scored - 19.00

Reading:

Shots on target - 221
Goals scored - 62
% shots scored - 28.05
Opp Shots on target - 216
Opp Goals scored - 36
% Opp shots scored - 16.67

In short Reading have got a clinical attack and mean defence.

A few changes tonight - http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDet ... 95,00.html

Boss Brian McDermott is excited about the team he will put out this evening when we travel to Brighton.

The Royals lost Jem Karacan to injury in our last game with Leeds, and at this time of the season there are always knocks to contend with.

But Brian told Reading FC Player, "We've got great squad depth, a lot of good players who haven't been in the 16, a lot of good players on the bench - we've got such good squad depth, I'm really happy about that.

"Jem's out for the season, Ledge we'll wait and see, Tabby we'll wait and see - we'll go to Brighton with a good team, a really good squad - and we'll look forward to it.

"We've got to pick a team for Brighton, every game I pick a team - and we've got players who have been really patient, looking forward to playing - we'll have to rejig things but the team I've got in my mind I'm really excited about putting out on the pitch."

Excited - Bigging up the players coming in to try and fill them with the same confidence of the players they're replacing.

Have to admit I'm a bit worried about tonight. I would gladly take a point and run!

Worst care scenario I can see a line-up of:

------------------------- Federcic -------------------------

Cummings ----- Pearce ----------- Gorkss ----- Griffin

Kebe ---------- Mullins ---------- McAnuff ------- Afobe

----------------- Roberts -------- Hunt -------------------
