Friday's Legacy

Surely this pic won't be as popular as that Wolves flag banner or that McGhee pic?

I'm tempted to have this printed on a 6 by 9 banner and hang it up in Y26 for Forest and Palace.

At the start of this thread there was no sense of what epic proportions it would reach.
But then half-way through momentum picked up and people began to get an idea of what could be achieved, and it went from strength to strength with people from all over chipping in with contributions, and the watching crowd grew and urged us on.
Every now and then there was one entry that stood out and made people sit up and think - yes, we can do this.
And now the end is in sight.
But will we fall at the final hurdle? Will we reach that elusive target? Or will it remain tantalisingly out of reach?
Whatever happens, this was an amazing achievement, one that we can all be proud of, look back on, and say 'I was there'.

In the interests of getting this thread over the finishing line...

I didnt go to the game or follow it online as I was too nervous and from reading all of this I'm extremely glad I didn't as I don't think I could've withstoodtge tension. It was bad enough holding off until 10pm to check the scores.

Listened on the radio.

Listening was horrible and then beautiful. First half, we sounded so poor that we had little chance to hold out. Bitten nails, pacing the room like a teenager (she loves me, she loves me not). Had to use distraction techniques - retuned the EPG on the telly, cleaned a kitchen cupboard (I know, I know).

Then the penalty, and a growing inevitability that we'd make it. I stopped distractions, sat and listened, found myself smiling at the sporting beauty of this winning run.

That, I hope, is what the next four games will be like. Calm belief.

I don't believe in destiny or fate. But I do believe in Brian "WNG" McDermott

This thread will never amount to anything, no chance of 1000 posts and Reading will lose in the play offs.
