If the players want to go as the Championship winners they know what they have to do and I am pretty sure McDermott will have drilled that into them.

I can see us sneaking it at St Marys to send the fans home for a very, very happy weekend!!

robbieroyal We have got one foot in the PL but if we lose Friday which is highly possible then we need 7 points from 9, taking that West Sham win all their games! It's ours to lose but still think we need at least a draw Friday!!

Wham will drop points away at Leicester & home to Brighton. If they draw those two we only need 3 points.....

Definitely see them dropping points v Leicester...who are on a run now to gatecrash the playoffs...pressure is now huge on West Ham to win all their remaining games which may mean more risk taking than they'd ideally want ....

I'm so nervous I find it easier to see West Ham dropping points
than us gaining them; this despite our stunning run of form.

I think my bottling it is based on the fact that I don;t think we've hammered* any team this season

You've got to love the intelligent tactics again by McD.
Rested some key players, went to brighton with a plan (much the same as middlesbrough) and came away with 3 points.
Yeah, we rode our luck, but could well have gone 2-0 up through Pearce.
Leigertwood will hopefully be fit for friday, maybe Tabb too. Mullins has 90 mins under his belt and Hunt had a 30 min rest.

I'm sure McD's got another cunning plan for fridays game, bring it on!

/Leeds mode on

The moment Southampton use their third sub, Bryn should be offered a new contract if he can put Lambert out for three weeks.

/Leeds mode off

Don't worry about it. I had a dream last night that we won 5-1.

0-0 at half-time and we weren't playing well?
No, despite the score, doesn't feel like "hammering"

Not like some of the 5-0's and 6-0's in the part.

McD is brilliant, the players fantastic. The stats tell me one thing (amazing)
but game by game I have rarely been convinced by the team in action.

Bit of a shame Birmingham couldn't hold on for the win over West Ham the other night.
Even so, going to be a party on Friday night - personally i think its all but over now, West Ham will drop points

With Karacan out for the season and Leigertwood now missing for the next couple of games (at least) - i dont think we will have enough to outplay Southampton. Its just as well we have one of the best defence in the league.

We haven't said how long Leigertwood will be out.

We all thought we wouldn't have enough to beat Brighton.

McD said he's got a knee injury - i doubt he will recover in time for Friday, may be back for Forest but i reckon Palace

We relied on a deflected free kick and a penalty miss - as i said, if it wasn't for our defence then Southampton could really turn us over....we just wont have enough in midfield for them, as we didn't last night against Brighton

Nevertheless, the club hasn't put an estimate on it. Harte still has a swollen ankle and had to play through the pain. Leigertwood will probably do the same when deemed fit enough, whenever that may be.

I'm more than comfortable with Mullins in there. Our two home games are now key. We will secure promotion in one of those - probably Palace. Brilliant.

I don't think we relied on it, the chance came along to not do anything stupid and wait and see. We held firm, the game was theirs to chase not ours. What was the point of going all guns blazing when we had the result we wanted, if we had of we would of been caught on the break.

We knew thats where we would be dangerous but its silly to say we relied on it. It could of been a very different game if they had of scored the pen and vincente had of hit the target we would of gone for them but it didn't.

In many respects, Friday night is a bonus game for us after last night; lose, and even if West Ham beat BHA, we are still 3 points ahead with 3 games to go, including 2 at home....I really cannot see West Ham making a point a game more than us for those last 3 games.

It was sugeested last night that Brian bring in kids and reserves for Friday night to rest the main squad players prior to the home games v Forest and Palace; can't see that happening myself, as his philosophy is always WNG - but its indicative as to how less imoprtant the game has become from a promotion (as opposed to a becoming Champions) point of view.
