It's bound to be Palace as I can't go to that game. Can't go to Brum either, tho, but I think it'll be settled by then.

Having been promoted last time on a day when we couldn't return to The Mad Stad because Irish were playing, you just know this time it will happen when we are not even playing but, ultimately, nothing matters more than going up however or whenever it occurs......................I doubt we have anyone amongst us who thought we would be in this position 9 months ago.

I've gone for Palace as well, as I think the best we will get on Friday is a draw, so would need 2 more games to secure the 7 points we currently need to be assured of promotion, assuming that West Ham don't lose to BHA on Saturday.

The best permutation is this:

Fri 13th - Reading 3 or 1 points
Sat 14th - West Ham 0 points
Tues 17th - Reading 3 points - Reading promoted v Forest

Any other set of results this weekend (eg: a West Ham draw, or us losing) would mean that Palace would be the earliest we could get promotion, and that would require us getting all 3 points v Forest on Tuesday night.

We'll lose in the play-offs to Birmingham City.

Promotion date

by Royals-lad14 » 11 Apr 2012 21:17

When we play palace, we have to wait til monday to see if we are possibly promoted, however would you rather we got promoted on the monday without a game and celebrating in a pub or in your own house, or would you rather west ham get something at Leicester so we can hopefully get promoted at Birmingham with us playing and the adrenaline and nerves flowing through you.
I am not sure what i would prefer, what would you prefer?

Ask for poll if preferred.

I'm making no assumptions. We're not over the finishing line yet. I just want us to be promoted.

We will get promoted without playing unfortunately. I'd much prefer to be promoted under our own steam however.

if we go into the palace game 6 points clear, as we are now, and win or even draw, then we will be promoted as we would be at least 7 clear and west ham would only have 6 to play for.

what makes you think we will need to wait to the monday to have it confirmed ?

personally cant see us beating saints so think we will drop points there and west ham SHOULD win against Brighton however they could easily slip up, so we might not even need to worry about the monday night but its just if it did happen what people would prefer

so

"AFTER we play palace, IF we have to wait til monday to see if we are possibly promoted...."

I think everyone would much prefer to celebrate getting promoted with several thousand others at the time it happens

If we go into the palace game 6 points ahead .... that can happen a number of ways
