Arrogance is different to confidence and you know it. Brian is a great manager and never comes across as arrogant. Can you imagine what Rogers would be saying if he experienced a run like ours?

"Lick my shoes, then my watch." probably. And we wouldn't care.

It was an interesting, if slightly TIC moment.

He was making the point that Rodgers was turning journeymen footballers into slick pass and move types who were running rings around the best teams in the country.

He (kind of) said that if he could do that with with Swansea's players imagine what he could do with someone like Steven Gerrard.

He further said that the pool of talent in England was certainly the equal of somewhere like Spain and that, with a different ethos, a gameplan the like of which Rodgers had implemented at Swansea, and with the courage to carry it through, there was no reason why England couldn't / shouldn't be winning major Championships.

That's not direct quotes of course, just my summary, and there was a slight edge of humour in what he said so the words should not be taken too literally...

as TMD implied, Swansea will probably finish below where we finished in our first season in the Premiership. Then look what happened.

Let's revisit this in a year.

ps I wish Swansea well.

I don't know if Swansea's performances against ours is really the right comparator. If they come 14th this season and 13th next season, they'll be doing 'better' than us.

Anything but relegation will be doing "better" by that metric

Yep, sounds about right to me. If Rodgers can take what was when promoted a Swansea side inferior to the 106-ers, and keep in the Premier League for two years, he'll have done a fantastic job.

It's Swansea City ffs. Nathan Dyer has been talked of in terms of an England call-up. What Rodgers is achieving is phenomenal.

Fair play to Rodgers doing well at Swansea. He always speaks about the club in high regard and it's nice to see one of OUR OWN doing so well.

He must love Loftus Road.

Not the first time he has lost by 3 there...

Its hard to think that Howard's consolation goal is the only goal scored for him there...

It's all gone a bit pete tong for Swansea in the last couple of weeks hasn't it, no danger of relegation yet as the bottom three are so shit but can see them struggling next year now. :?

I don't think they've had enough to play for recently and so they've possibly just lost that edge. They weren't going to get into Europe and they weren't going to get relegated so there must be some element of easing off a tad.

It will be really interesting to see what they do over the summer though. They still don't really have the most quality upfront to make the most of the chances they create, and their wingers are decent but, apart from Sinclair (penalties) don't seem to chip in with enough goals.

Could be tough for them next season and I wouldn't be surprised to see Rodgers move in the summer whilst his stock is high.

They definitely need a decent striker to come in over the summer, Graham with Moore as backup just isn't enough.

It’s what happens to any ‘little’ team that plays passing football. Eventually, people work them out and stop playing against them like they are fodder – the result is proper games of football being played against them.

I don’t see them staying up next season.

Like Brendan, doing a great job there. Still hope he one day comes back to us to finish the job he was starting.
