Royal Lady But they will say that you broke the rules in applying for tickets when you knew you weren't entitled to them. Or something. Hope our tickets come tomorrow! Mind, they've not given any indication that they won't honour the tickets. I'd have thought they'd have said something by now if that was the case..

will you get off your high horse

M8!!!!! I'm just saying what they might say but equally that as they've said nothing so far they'll prob honour the tickets! Calm down to a panic!

I'm not sure this will have any difference- the rules aren't laws or anything. But ultimately, an online purchase isn't a legally binding contract - they can return the money and cancel the order if they like.

I suspect they're hoping the whole thing will stay fairly quiet, and they can just ignore it. It's unlikely not to get to general sale I would have thought, but we will see.

It's just too complicated ultimately. The process of generating a refund is undoubtedly long winded, as the office won't be set up to issue mass refunds. Then you've got to cross check points to sale date - laborious at best - then you've got to cope with the fact that by the time all of that is done, people who bought tickets by accident :D could legitamately still have bought a ticket, and you end up with arguments on that point as well - easier, cheaper, and still perfectly satisfactory to dispatch bought tickets bought and get on with it.

It's not like they've been sold to Birmingham fans or anything - you couldn't buy a ticket without a Member Number for example - so there's no problem. There's still 1500 tickets left, which should be plenty to see things out to the point that there's none available for general (0pts) sale - which is the way it should be.

royal-biscuit-man Once the clock strokes midnight tonight, are you able to buy tickets using the online system? (Royalty Points providing of course).

No. From 9am.

Hopefully they will still come then. I just don't want to miss out buying tomorrow.#

My other point is that I turn 19 inbetween the game and buying tickets which price band would you have gone for if you were in my shoes?

They probably have a backlog, reckon you might find half of the TO staff left early on Tues to get to a certain away game in Brighton...so any processing and enveloping up etc..was all done yesterday...I'd panic and queue up outside the TO overnight though if your tickets aren't through the letterbox when you get in tonight!! Just in case... :|

M Brook It's a bit like when recently Tesco had the Ipad 4 available on line for £49.99 by mistake they refused to honour it as they claimed people would have known it was a mistake. The football club's case would be even stronger if they had the balls to enforce (which they wont!).

Actually Tesco had a pretty specific clause in their T&Cs for such an eventuality that gave them pretty solid legal grounds for refusing to honour it. Not sure the clubs cover this as well.

Only if they have fixed (permanently) the bug/gaping loophole that previously existed in the ticketing system. In the past I have taken advantage of being on US time to purchase tickets in the very early morning UK time when I wasn't meant to have been able to do so until 9.00am.

Worth a try, I would say!

Ticket office are now looking through their records for someone living in Basingstoke who made a purchase on the first day and has just 800 points!

Bro in law called tonight and had discussion over fiasco and whether they would take a booking for him a day early as he had 990 points! They refused! As of 5pm this evening there are 830 tickets left. This will sell out tomorrow probably around 2pm!

I have clearly missed the boat re: selling tickets to everyone. Only just got mine now. Phew.

At least I won't be at the front if only 800 were left.

Just working out the best way to get there. Train seems a bit expensive, although I've read that 'splitting tickets' can cut the cost. Can someone explain this, or show the cheapest way to do this in terms of Reading > Birmingham, thanks!
