I'm no saying both teams would be happy with a draw, but the teams are in

Saints: Friedl Koncilia, Bernd Krauss, Josef DeGeorgi, Bruno Pezzey, Erich Obermeyer, Roland Hattenberger, Walter Schachner, Heribert Weber, Herbert Prohaska, Hans Krankl, Reinhold Hintermaier

Reading: Harald Schumacher, Hans-Peter Briegel, Manfred Kaltz, Karlheinz Förster, Wolfgang Dremmler, Paul Breitner, Felix Magath, Pierre Littbarski, Horst Hrubesch, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Lothar Mattaus

Snowball
Reading's next two away games will be the hardest two games they will have had to face all season

15-4-2 44-15 Southampton
12-8 -1 33-12 Birmingham

and they will be short of a great midfielder (Karacan) and may not have Leigertwood.

)

Southampton have won 4 of their last 6 at home (not bad but only equal to our recent away record) but Birmingham have won just 2 of their last 6 games at home. Just for the record, Forest have won 3 of their last 6 away and Palace have won none of their last 6 away. We have won all 6 at home. Relax!

TBM
Fox Talbot I'm hoping an agreement to draw 0-0 is being arranged.

wouldn't it be better to get a high scoring draw?.......cos after GD, doesn't it come down to GF?

True, but a bigger risk that one side might accidentally win.

I predict that I'l be in a hotel around 20 miles from St Mary's and unable to justify being at the game. Anyway we can win any game, including this one - but a rational guess would be the goalless draw.

A dull 0-0 draw with chants of "Let's all laugh at West Ham" booming from all sides of the Stadium from about 60 minutes on

I've just walked to work and possibly overdone the epic music. I'm a bit of a gibbering wreck now...

Getting very nervous about those that seem to think promotion is tied up. Having supported Reading for a long time I dont think we can take anything for granted. With our weakened team we could easily just get 4 points from the next four games - loss at Southampton and Birmingham with a win against C. Pal and a draw against in form Forest. W. Ham would then need to win three and get a draw and they would be above us on Goal Diff. Would not be thinking like this if had full team but we could be without 3 key players!

This is why it's a squad game, not a first 11 game.

Everyone keeps saying how in form Forest are but remember they got beaten at home by Bristol City the other week, plus they've been scoring a fair few worldly goals - that'll stop sooner or later.

Personally I don't think we could "easily" only take four points from four games. That'd be a remarkable capitulation from a side that have won 13 of the last 15 games or whatever it is. It might happen but it's more likely we'll take 6 or 7 and go up.

Silver Fox After the success of my back from the game thread I thought I should do this

1-2 Champagne Gorkks, Dread Pirate roberts

Now crack on everyone being certain we'll lose, by choosing to completely ignore our form and just deciding that Ricky Lambert is the best thing since Pele

Now, where do i find out who the ref is so I can start a refwatch thread?

a mate of mine had a dream that reading scored twice in first 10 mins and held on to win 2-1.

i have lumped on (£3) for gorkks to score 1st and 2-1 win at 180-1.

suggest you do same

The "easily" (meaning it wouldn't be that surprising) could go like this.

1. Lose away to Southampton who are top of the league, with a fantastic striker and a great home record. 50% possibility?

2. Draw at home against a side in good recent form who have won 3 from their last six away. 50% possibility?

3. Win versus Palace. 90% Likely

4. Lose at Birmingham, a seriously good side with a very good home record. 50% possibility?

None of those results would be "surprises". I hope we win next four, but those who are nervous are right to be.

It COULD turn so quickly. Add in (possibly) last-minute nerves and injuries or poor decisions, bad luck

Lambert has been seen practising back post headers in the middle of southampton town centre earlier with a big smile on his face. He's up for this one. If we have to lose, will someone other than that oxf*rd score?

Who thinks Forest have a 50% chance of drawing away at Reading? That's mental, no bookmaker in the world will reflect that. Reading will be odds on to win that game, far more so than Saints are to win tonight.

90% likely to beat Palace? That's also mental.

Nobody's disputing it's mathematically possible to only get 4pts but it's not exactly likely and certainly not easily going to happen.

Chill the fukk out everyone.
