This is just amazing ! Blackpool, Leeds at home, West Sham, Brighton and Soton away who in thier right minds would have thought we could have got 15 points from those five toughies, this McD is just incredible !!

why would you even consider having a pop at not only one of our youth players...but also a reading fan on a night like this?

Disgusting the amount of crap he takes.

Agreed

ok ok - fair enough. did see him congratulate everyone at the end. I love everyone. Happy now?

It is clear that you were caught up in the euphoria of the moment, it will be forgotten.

How many times would you see a striker, who is not playing many games, celebrate like that at the end. Would Tevez or Balotelli be that joyous if that was Man City celebrating, and they were not playing. I think not.

That is a credit to McDermott, the backroom staff and the entire squad. The squad is playing for the gaffer, they are playing for the fans, and more importantly, they are playing for each other.

Fcuking epic night. Barney scenes at half time, throat ripped raw and a blinding headache. Back on the beer and ecstatic tonight. We had the same nous as Brighton but that was a nervy night. Massive night. I could hug and kiss anyone tonight.

Work commitments meant I could not get to the game tonight. But as a season ticket holder for the last 32 years, let me tell you how I feel.

That was electric tonight. Backs to the wall, but an absolutely EPIC performance. Not one man, but a team. Older guys like Roberts and Harte loving it. Younger players like Cummings and Pearce busting a gut for the team. I've seen some great seasons and some utter cr@p seasons, but this season is legendary. I've had a beer or two, and there will be a few more tonight. Tuesday can not come quick enough. The Madstad will be packed and I can barely wait to cheer these players onto the pitch.
McDermott, Gibbs, the backroom staff, and the WHOLE playing staff...take a bow. You've been brilliant. Almost there. You deserve the title, and hopefully back to back home wins will secure it. You deserve it.

I have enjoyed the promotions in 1976, 1979, 1984, 1986, 1994, 2002 and 2006..... but this feels good. This feels very good.

How do I feel being a Reading fan ? Bloody love it. Always have and always will :D

Also tonight a great sign of the togetherness of this bunch of players, was the sight of Jem and his crutches on the pitch at the end of the match celebrating with the rest.

Did that at Brighton too - Roberts said on Sky that they're a TEAM not individuals and it comes across as such so well - THAT's why we're where we are - no big egos.

Paul Doyle in The Guardian There is a cliché in football that maintains clubs cannot get value in the January transfer market: well, this was the 34-year-old's sixth goal in his 15th appearance since joining from Blackburn Rovers for £3m three months ago – that strike-rate, along with his power and intelligence, have been significant factors in Reading's run. Bargain.

Well said. I honestly believe (assuming it happens, and let's face it that's now likely) promotion this season will be a bigger achioevement than 2006. And I never thought I'd be able to say that.

McD should get Manager of the Season. He really should. He's so understated, so calm and collected - he's a lot like Coppell. He's repaid whatever his pay increase was 10 fold already in my eyes .
