Farewell sweet prince

I love you bryn
more than you know
I see you more as kin
than an overpaid ho.

Your rugged good looks
And icelandic drawl
send me weak at the knees
whenever you kick the ball.

I couldn't wish for you more
than to be happy and rich
And next time you score
I'm on the pitch.

(And to hell with the consequences.)

Mr Angry A great servant to the club, an integral part of our most succesful era and a really top person to boot; will also become a fantastic manager in the not too distant future.

Cheers Bryn, thanks for the memories (the nutmeg to set up Shane's winner v Liverpool, and rattling the crossbar v Man Utd in the dying minutes of the Cup replay come immediately to mind!) and all the best for the future.

I can't pour it out on this thread until it's confirmed.

Suffice to say, the man is a Royals great.

He deserves testimonial match, and that is not enough to tell him how much we appreciate his contribution to the team for many years.
In the eve of promotion, I suddenly feel the sense of lost.

So we need to do something for the Palace game. I won't be there unfortunately but I would be happy to contribute financially to a flag or a present for the Icelandic Bear.

Anyone else up for it? Thread here if so: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=112859&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Bryn really does epitomise what a modern day footballer should be. Always talks to fans after the game, quiet professional family man who on the pitch at his peak and for a few years after was class, very underrated at times. For a defensive midielder I always laugh about how he nutmegged the liverpool fullback and then put in a cross beckham would be proud of for long to nod home.

A real favourite of mine i'd put up there with murty, cureton, harper, adie williams, etc

Will never forget his header against Sheffield Utd. Never!

Also what he did against Utd in the league cup.

I love you, Bryn.

Other than his possible departure, my only regret is that we didn't get Gunnar 5 years earlier as I believe he is the best all round midfielder we've ever had.

Totally under rated by many but THAT nutmeg whilst over lapping as a stand in full back when already in his mid 30's, not to mention the subsequent cross, said everything about his qualities as a player. Whether there is any truth in this rumour or not, I'm far from convinced we've seen the last of him.

My favourite Brynjar moment is not one that happened on the pitch or even whilst wearing RFC colours, but still sums him up completely.

Running the Reading Half Marathon a few years ago, Brynjar was stood at the top of Shinfield Road watching and cheering on people and gave me a high 5 as I was wearing a home shirt 8)

Not sure what appeals to him in the future and how he sees his post playing career panning out but would love the club to find a role for him whether it be on the coaching staff or as some kind of club ambassador

Federici will be all that remains of 2005/06. Top bloke is Bryn, lots of good memories with him.

Will remember him most for 1) His header against Sheff Utd at home 2) His nut-meg to then cross for Shane to score against Liverpool

Absolutely one of my favourite players ever for all the reasons that everyone has already stated.

To echo what Finerain said, a fine role model as a footballer, a professional and as a person.
