Mintymurray Would love to see him back. Classiest player ever at the club. This is why I for one would like resolution to the TSI deal. Then we can ask questions and see what investment, if any they are prepared for.

You can ask but they wont divulge that.

I can't think of anything better, than the new owners splashing the cash and getting Gylfi in - hysterical doesn't even cover it

I'd like to think we at least TRIED to get him, even if, ultimately, we can't afford him. I'd be very sad if we didn't try and speak to him, as I still think he could be persuaded to come back.

This is spot on. He should be a priority, but one that we are aware is a long shot and have planned for not getting.

We have advantages, he loved it here. He knows he'll fit in. We may well be able to offer less cash than anyone else to meet the same valuation, due to a sell on clause.

It depends what you mean by "fit in". Yes, tempramentally he is 100% right for us, but Brian constructed a team around him. There have been two further teams since he left, and our style of play and formation now is quite different to when he was here, so he couldn''t simply slot straight in again.

Having said that, if we do go up there will probably be other changes of personnel, but the central midfield pairing of Leigertwood and Karacan should be our first choice (assuming Jem makes a full recovery).

We'll be pushing out luck trying to play two upfront if we go up IMO.

McD's had a word. He was looking a bit too good and pricing himself out of our league.

They are now probably begging for him to come back after throwing him out for no good reason. LOL at German football. If he has any sense he'll request a transfer and come to either us (if we get promoted) or Swansea.

Hoffenheim won their last game 4-0 btw...

....and its very rare for a player to put in a transfer request, as that will mean they lose out on "loyalty" bonuses etc.

Sham for Gylfi that it didn't really work out for him at Hoffenheim.
Shame for us that he has played so well for Swansea straight away at the top level proving that he is good enough (Yes,we all knew it) so his price will no doubt be nearer £10 million now so unless we want to build a team around him (again)I doubt thld pay that sort of money but we can hope.
Clear out Church,HRK,Antonio,Mills,Manset,Morrison and a few others who won't be up to playing in the Premier League and we might at least raise a deposit.

On-loan Gylfi Sigurdsson happy to stay at Swansea City

On-loan midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has said he would be happy to stay at Swansea City beyond the end of the current season.
Sigurdsson scored Swansea's opening goal in a comprehensive 3-0 home win over Blackburn Rovers .
The Iceland international is on-loan from Hoffenheim until the end of the season and has impressed during his spell at Swansea.
"I just want to play football and if it's here I'll be very happy," he said.
The former Reading player has scored seven goals for Swansea since joining on loan in January and was named the Premier League's Player of the Month for March.
The 22-year-old is set to return to the German side at the end of the campaign and is currently unsure where he will be playing next season.
"It's very hard for me to say because I've got another couple of seasons left on my contract at Hoffenheim," said Sigurdsson.
"But I'm very happy here and enjoying my football so hopefully things will get sorted out in the summer.
"I just wanted to play football and didn't get the chance in Germany in my second season there.
Use accessible player and disable flyout menus.

"It's down to whoever's in charge to speak to Hoffenheim and get something sorted."
Swansea's win over Blackburn at the Liberty Stadium halted a run of four successive defeats in the Premier League.
Sigurdsson's first half opener was his first goal for Swansea at the Liberty Stadium with a Nathan Dyer effort and a Scott Dann own goal securing the victory.
"It was about time I scored at home," said Sigurdsson.
"I've got a few goals away from home but it was a special one for me too to get one at the Liberty Stadium.
"The most important thing was to get three points and a clean sheet.
"The fans have been fantastic, especially in the last four games. It was very important to bounce back and get three points.
"Apart from the last four games it's been fantastic. The way we play football is brilliant."

tbh i would be surprised a) if he was available and b) if he was, that he didnt go to swansea. and yes, i know that he loves us and values his time at the club but having seen him interviewed he has got the horn for brendan something chronic. i LOVE the idea that he would want to come back here, a CM of gylfi and jem has got me shifting uncomfortably on my seat but i just cant see it happening. oh, and whoever LOL'd at german football, we could learn some serious lessons from the bundesliga.

This HAS to be top priority, surely?

May not happen but he'd be top of my list.
