paultheroyal Am I right in saying that Steve Cotterill has managed 2 wins out of 2 against us this season.

Time to be cautious.

2-2 scoreline

We're cautious every game. We never enter any game thinking it'll be easy. Forest have a very shaky defence and they can be gotten at. That said they still aren't 100% safe yet and will want to take a point home at least. At home you have to fancy us.

Home win!

Mike Hunt
Somerset Royal I have a real dilemma. :shock:

I have tickets for the Palace and Brum games :D but was convinced by a Bristol City friend to go to Ashton Gate on Tuesday night and watch them quote ‘beat’ unquote The Hammers. :roll: Whilst I’d love for City to win or draw for their own sake in staying up (they are my ‘home’ team really) I do not want to miss The Promo Party (especially as I missed the trip to Leicester in ‘06 as had long standing other plans and didn’t believe we would do it so early!).

So I want both Reading to lose or draw against Forest and for Bristol City to beat West Ham. :oops:

1. Fuck off newbie.
2. You have double quoted beat. Not sure why you did that.
3. Fuck your mate (with all due respect mind), Fuck watching Bristol City. I cannot fathom that a person who is living in the UK, would not go to any of these last games. As Hillary Duff once sang, this is what dreams are made of. People like Libertine, Prem_addcit, seahawk10, RCRFC, all of my brothers and sisters living in Australia and myself would kill to be there, but are thousands of miles away.

So I for one, hope they do get promoted tomorrow. And you all do not get to celebrate with the rest of the fans who will blow off plans to see something special.

True but a little misleading because during that period we went our separate ways for a few seasons, us to the Prem and them to League 1.

I'm gonna go for a 2-0 win, but I think saints and wham will also win. I'm hoping this is the case, as I'll be following the game as best as I can, right up until I get on my flight to Aus which departs at 21:15.

When we get to Aus we'll be seeing my brother in law, who is a Hammer. So for that reason, please let it happen on Saturday

Any true Reading fan knows that we always do things the hard sat, even the 106 team made us wait until the very last game before breaking the record.

With that in mind, it's a nailed on Forest win by three or four goals.

If we clinch it tonight they'll be a party against Palace and Brum anyway. Besides there's always the title to claim in those two games. It's no dilemna at all, lets get this promotion wrapped up asap and relax and party for whatever's left.

YEp, but you'd also be right in saying he's generally toilet and we've just won 14 out of 16

Their main threat in their recent run McLeary is suspended.

So basically stop fatty McGugan toe punting from 20 yards and cut off the supply to Dexter Duckfeet and we should have more than enough for them.

Judging by some of the paranoid nonsense of the last few days on here the main issue might be the fans turning into Mavis from Coronation Street and submitting it onto the players ala West Ham.

Would love it to be done and dusted tonight, still have memories of Forest away back in 98' , we were down they were up and pierre van hooijdonk being carried around the pitch by the celebrating fans.

Would love some revenge on that so a mahoosive home win for me

That's right - would have been much better if they'd broken the record at the start of the season then we all could have relaxed! :?

Forest have a half decent away record given their lowly league position and very much have the incentive of securing championship status. It would be quite a feather in their cap to take something away from home of the Championees elect.
Given these variables Mr McDermotts ridiculously slick upwardly mobile machine will win 5-1 with goals shared about the place including the obligatory late brace from the Alfster ;)

Thanks Vision, I kinda agree.

Nobody's mentioned the time difference yet... and I don't mean the 2 minutes between Bristol and London... with the game in Bristol finishing first the celebrations at the Mad Stad can begin at the final whistle (if appropriate)... whilst I will be glued to my radio leaving Ashton Gate! :(

Wisdom of the Crowd principle?

I've totalled all the predictions in this thread re tonight's games.

Reading W28 D9 L10
West Ham W8 D5 L1
Saints W5 D2 L3

On that basis we have to wait until at least Saturday.

Only one poster has all three to win tonight, surprising given the form of the top three who are all playing teams in the bottom third. I think there's a lot of I daren't predict a win / anti-jinxing going here. Quite right too!

So Reading are the form team in the division and are playing at home. Saints and West Ham are both playing away. And 10 people think Reading will lose but only 1 thinks West Ham will? Righty-o.

fwiw if I had my last tenner in my pocket i'd say all three teams will win as that's the percentage choice.

If there is a chance we can be crowned champions on saturday, will the trophy be at the stadium or do we have to wait untill the away game at brum?

The differences are not the form of the top three (all pretty good)
but the current form of the opposition teams.

Peterboro are 3-0-2 at home, last 5 games, capable of excellent play but also vulnerable
and are 2-1-5 for their last 8 games, 19th in the form table

Peterboro have lost NINE games at home

Southampton are second in the overall form (last 8 games) and have won 4 of their last 5 away.

They are pretty good reasons for thinking Saints have a good chance of winning there.

=================================================================================

Bristol have only 1 2 of their last 5 at home and have lost 10 at home this season

West Ham are brilliant away from home 3-2-0 11-3 their last 5 against sides higher than Bristol
and are 12-5-4 away for the season.

They are pretty good reasons for thinking West Ham have a good chance of winning there.

================================================================================

Reading's overall form is superb and they have won their last 5 at home 13-4-4 for the season (13-3-2 since Sept 17th)

On THEIR form they should be big favourites to win again.

However, Forest are in a false position in the table, their current form MUCH better
and they are 3-1-1 away 11-4 last 5 games, so must surely be dangerous.

======================================================================

The most logical bets are the top three teams all winning. I wouldn't want my house on it though
especially, this close to the finish line.
