roadrunner Southampton declared an interest in Gorkss after Rangers circulated his name for a transfer during the summer, but have also been on the trail of Bristol City’s Liam Fontaine.

That can't be right can it? Apparently he'd only just become available!

Yeah but wasn't it brendy who said that? His heart's in the right place, but lets face it, he's about as ITK as a child.

roadrunner I wish Harte and Griffin had the same ability.

To be fair, Griffin's ability to read the game helped us out when he joined on loan. many times he would position himself perfectly to make a timely interception. Sadly, what I have seen of Harte does not suggest that he has this ability.

But somehow the rest of football thought Harte was the best left back in the Championship last season.

Royal Lady Tbf we don't know that it IS £900k spent, because we don't disclose what we pay for players or sell players for, plus we'll have paid it in instalments won't we, so we haven't splashed out nearly £1 million in one hit. I hope he's as good as people are saying - we NEED someone to give the team about impetus and spirit.

I see you point this out about how much we spend, but seem to conveniently ignore it about what we receive.

Oh did we RECEIVE money for Gorkss then? Cool.

The amount of goals he scored and being in the side that made it to the play-off final, I think they were right. You don't expect goals from your defence, so to achieve what we did and him score what he scored he more than deserved that. IMO.

Love how determined he has been from day one to get us into the Premier League. Absolutely excellent defender and been such a key part in the team this year

Oh and he was in the Sky Sports Football League team of the week alongside Jimmy this week

Maguire Good signing. Knows exactly what it's all about at this level and might even bring the best out of Alex Pearce

A throwback to days gone by:

Going back to the Southampton game, I don't think I have seen a better central defender in the hoops than Gorkss - and I include Wdowczyk! The man is a beast!
