No Fixed Abode
Royal Lady If Kes is right, and I have no reason to suspect he is, why would jubilant RFC fans be stopped from entering certain establishments in groups? Do they think they're all going to fight each other or something. If we'd been relegated, I could understand a certain amount of worry by TVP that it would kick off as people would be fed up etc, however, we'll all be really happy. I'm certainly not intending to cause any damage to anyone with my mobility scooter.

This is what I don't understand about Reading town centre pubs RL. They really don't like football fans at all. Take it from me, someone who is out most weekends. Not RL who's idea of a night out is when B&Q are open late.

Pubs tomorrow will be VERY cautious who they let in. Especially straight after football. IMO, it's best to go to a pub on the outskirts of town. Main places showing the footy in town (O'Neill's and Walkabout) WILL be funny about letting loadsa of footy fans in.

I have to agree with NFA here.

I've been the "victim" of these establishments who if they know you're a football fan will not let you in. A few years ago in the winter I had an RFC scarf around me. They stopped me entering.

My friend who is from outside of Reading was also barred as his driving lience was checked at Walkabout who said that as he isn't from the area he can't come in - believing he was an away fan.

They are strict. I will still be goign to these places as I'm not going to the game tomorrow, so will enter sober and without colours and on my own so should be fine.

Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?

So no colours tomorrow then? Why can't people just have a bit of fcuking fun FFS?! You would think that in READING town centre after potentially winning the league fans in RFC shirts would be allowed to have a bit of a party. So OTT.

I've talked to someone recently who runs one of the bars who have this policy, and the reason is not that a group of chanting Reading fans will fight each other, it's more that they might piss off the non-footy fans, or fans of other teams, and the fighting is more likely to be started by the "regular dross" that are in his bar at the weekends. (his words!)

Maybe not right thread ( ok def not ) but have a dilemma,

I have a ticket for Birmingham t, I am a STH and got in quick, my boy is a STH with slightly less points but also a lazy student who thought he'd wait to apply and is now effed for a ticket.

I will probably therefore give mine up as we always go together, so if anyone wants it I'm happy to meet up and pass it on at face value at the ground tomorrow ALTERNATIVELY long shot but if anyone has a spare I will pay upto £50 for it.

Post box me.

Just go.

1) you'll have a crackin' day
2) he's learned a valuable lesson about actually giving a flying one

Leave home at 12 with the 2 junior Franchisees
Pick up Palace supporting mate
Arrive near the MadStad at c1:30
Take half an hour to get through traffic to park
Buy lunch for the lot - chips from the van
Enter stadium at 2:15 to soak up the atmosphere
Shout until completely hoarse
Game starts but no voice left
Silently take the pi$$ out of Palace mate as we knock in 6
Take an hour to get back to the car
Take another hour to get out of the car park
Get home about 7:30

That'll do for me. 8)

I have never been stopped going in walkabout or oneills before wearing colours and in groups. I don't expect tomorrow to be any different and will be wearing colours. It's only usually away fans that have a problem.

Did pubs stop reading fans on Tuesday night?

TBM PLEASE can we let the players have their lap of honour on Saturday and not invade the pitch for no reason (as we wont know the Soton result)

Doubt we'd invade the pitch again.
