Pre Season Tour - Portugal 2012

Confirmed that the pre-season tour is in Portugal this year. Understand the team are going for 15 days from i think its the 18th July.

Anyone planning to attend? I certainly fancy a trip out there but probably only for a long weekend, maybe Thurs-Mon or something. Would be nice to see us play just one of the bigger Portugese teams whilst we're out there now we're PL i.e. Porto, Lisbon etc but i can't see it happening.

PL season kicks off on 18th Aug and the Euros don't end until 1st week of July.

Therefore can't see any serious pre season friendlies being played out there much before the final week of their stay.

They'll be back around 1st August which still gives good time for a few useful games over here before the season starts.

We'll probably have a Championship side away on 4th August (Charlton perhaps) and then perhaps a good team from abroad on 11th August (e.g. Barcelona )

Yeah I imagine it'll be an Algarve job. The only top flight team in the region is SC Olhanense, so they might be the tour's "big" game.

The top team from Faro are currently in the equivalent of League 2. But they do play at the Faro/Loule stadium used in Euro 2004.
