what about the palace away game - mind numbling boring 0-0 with i guess 1 chance each - their goal rightly disallowed and our perfect goal disallowed - then there's the fit cheerleaders and oh, a fox ran on the pitch - and that was just about it, lol!!

There was a Beyonce impersonator who would have been really good if a) she sounded like Beyonce and b) she could sing.

For me the pivital moment was Middlesboro away, from that moment I knew we were going up.

Best games has to be West Ham away, if only for those few minutes before half time.

Worst was Cardiff away, dragging myself out of bed early to see us get tonked and then it pissed down the entire 30 minute walk back to the station. The rain blew sideways and soaked my jeans, my coat leaked and I stood in a puddle and soaked my trainers. A thoroughly miserable trip home.

For me it was the Leicester home game - that was the one I think I came away from with the feeling that something special may be happening

I can't remember game where the football genuinely got me going
(and I include West Ham away and Saints away) and I came away
from Bristol pleased with the result but thought we were dire.

So in terms of PLAY, there isn't a game worthy from my perspective
but the atmosphere for the promotion-winning game was electric
once we realised all we need to do was score a goal...

So that would be mine.

The strange thing is, it seems like we've been playing 'must-win' games for about 2-3 months... Initially it was to get in the playoffs, then to have a chance at automatic, and then to be THE BEST. Some of those were against big teams, some of them weren't but every single one was important in getting us here.

Agreed. But I've just realised how little I've enjoyed the football.

TBF we must be the most boring champions for a long time.

I can't agree with this - take Brighton or Millwall for instance - not the prettiest games, but just massive, and wonderful away days to boot

Can't remember which game it was but for me the first Roberts game showed that even Brian had got fed up with us playing hit and hope football even though it had been fairly successful.
He must have realised that Church chasing aimless long balls would not get us promoted whereas with Roberts playing the hold-up game brilliantly from day one made sure that finally we could play through teams and not just over the top of them.
So for me it is that game because it was the start of our serious intent towards promotion and led on to those so important victories against West Ham,Brighton and Saints, games that I think we wouldn't have won playing the old way.

RockheadRumple I think Watford (A) deserves a honourable mention.

Goal of the season

Also cross of the season. HRK to Kebe was sublime.

Cross of this or any other season was Kebe to Roberts against Southampton. What a delivery.

Southampton away for me. My first away game (ignoring Wembley trips), and the singing on the concourse, the good humoured control by the police and stewards, the eruption when we went back in front, and also when Le Fondre got our third - magic magic magic stuff

Indeed. Given how close it all finished with the top 3 the wins against West Ham and Southampton were so crucial.

As for games of the season, apart from the obvious, Blackpool at home was great. After losing at Peterborough and Roberts getting injured late on, it felt that the wheels may be starting to fall off the promotion push, especially with the tough run-in about to start. But we beat Blackpool quite comprehensively really and never looked back.

I'd say Karacan to HRK to ALF - Derby (H) - was pretty special too.

More of a turning point in the season but Doncaster (H). Never looked back since then. Could have ended up being in trouble if we lost that game, bottom of the league, play off final hangover and lost Long and Mills and only replaced them with a few cheap players.

Southampton was a better game of course though.
