Doyle will always be a legend at the club. Not 100% we should take him back though, although would not be too dissapointed if we got him for a decent price. He is the past, I think we are better off looking to the future.

You sure? He's scored more Premier League goals than Torres this season... he may improve your strike force.

Dare to Dr£am
royalsroyalsroyals92 Jason Roberts had hardly scored before we signed him and he has been brilliant, so Doyle's drought wouldn't bother me too much.
That being said, I'm not a massive fan of players coming back and id rather we looked elsewhere

Double agreed. I mean, who in their right mind would want Sigurdsson back!

Sig is a great player, and of all those who should come back, its him - however would i rather the club shelled out millions and millions for one player, or bought enough to make us a good team - id go with the team. Clubs have to progress and move on - and the lack of that is probably what cost us 2008/2009

I loved Doyler but really? Why don't we sign Convey, Ingimarsson, Sonko etc. while we're at it. Would much prefer Andy Johnson or Jay Rodriguez. Sorry
but Doyles the past.

Doyle makes a little bit more sense than any of those 3 but, yeah!

Not really done much for years and was anonymous for us when we struggled second half of second prem season and following year back in championship when we tailed off after xmas - times when we really needed him to excel.

I wouldn't re-sign him.

Doesn't really matter what we think - if McD thinks he can get the best out of him, I'll go with that. Many people on here were against signing Legs, Roberts, etc.

I think even my mum could have scored that one last night.

Le Fondre's 2nd v Saints was arguably a much better goal in terms of skill and technique.

We have been in touch with Wolves, that much is true. The assumption at first was it was about Fletcher's availability, and it may well have been; but McDermott maintains a close relationship with Doyle and has admitted as much in recent weeks. So don't be too dismissive of this one. It's up there as plausible.

Also worth noting that Nigel Howe is a very good friend of Jez Moxey.

Could do a lot worse than bringing Doyle back, as long as he's motivated.
