Had a long and proud history, but disastrous management changes a few years ago saw them hit rock bottom; have now bounced back, and though the immediate future looks pretty good, who knows what the next few Years will bring.
Old Labour: - Portsmouth
A big player many, many years ago, but a policy going back decades of spend, spend, spend and keep spending, has seen them get into trouble; however, they didn't worry about where the money was coming from, and don't worry about ever paying back their debts, they just kept on spending. Go bankrupt. Fade into the memory. Gone forever.
New Labour: - West Ham
Originally working class, but lots of new money, savvy meejay types now in charge, big on their own self importance and delusions of grandeur, full of corporate-speak such as "respect the point"; they like to bang on about their working class background as they drive back to their mock tudor mansions in deepest Essex in their Range Rovers. A sense of entitlement because of their past successes, and a simmering belief that their time will come again.
Lib Dems: Doncaster Rovers
For years, totally harmless and non-descript, tootling along not doing very much, not being noticed by many people. Then suddenly, management have a great idea which will make them succesful! Sadly, the experiment of linking with big names in the hope of getting some reflected glory is an utter disaster for them, and the future looks as if its full of going nowhere slowly, wondering what might have been.
