Tad Showbiz Maidenhead must win both their last two games however they have Dover away on Saturday who thumped them 4-0 in a match I and other HNA regulars attended earlier in the season. I reckon Maidenhead will be relegated on Saturday.

By the way a question for FoCcers or any other NL expert - Will Maidenhead drop into Southern League or Isthmian?

There are variables to consider:
1. Teams going up from Step 3
2. Teams in Step 3 wanting to move sideways
3. Teams going up from Step 4 and below

Looking at the make up of the Southern League Premier, they would become one of the few eastern based clubs. As for the Ryman Premier, they would become the most western. In a nutshell, I don't know :lol:

Tried answering this yesterday but my daughter's iPod didn't co-operate.

Easy answer is Southern unless Farnboro finish in bottom four then RYMAN - I think!

.... And even then there is a precedent to swap over should there be any 'volunteers' to keep the Step3 divisions balanced!

Eg teams such as Cambridge City or Hitchin could move to RYMAN to enable three clubs to drop CONFS to Southern.

RE Will Maidenhead drop into Southern League or Isthmian?

Four Of Clubs Easy answer is Southern unless Farnboro finish in bottom four then RYMAN - I think!

... and it all got a mite more complicated yesterday, with rumours of at least THREE clubs resigning from the Northern Premier League - so there may be a few illogically-constructed, enforced 'moves' south to north in STEP TWO & THREE :?
Magpies should be safe in that respect though, I think the restructuring 'shadow' has only reached as far south as Gloucester so far.

... quick update from last night.

HELLP Witney 1-1 Kidlington - att. a decent 151 - means Kiddy are 'safe'. Witney need to hope a) Fairford don't get anything out of their home game vs Wantage this PM - 'Freds' are on a decent late run of form too - and b) that perhaps only 1 goes down from the Hellenic Premier (if that :?: :| )

Windsor at home to the CCL Premier Champions today. I wonder what Guildford's approach will be today. Will they stay true to form and be the obnoxious bunch of twats they have been all season or will they actually let their football do the talking? Whatever happens, I hope the CCL have appointed a strong referee who will not let them get away with their Drogba-like / Keane-like activities.

Banstead turned up with 7 players so their manager and assistant manager played. They were reduced to 8 after one of their players went off injured with 30 minutes to go.

At least some solace for Windsor with a thoroughly deserved 2-1 over Guildford City in front of 325. Should have won by more but the final pass was not good enough.

Basingstoke win again. A Reading / Basingstoke double would be impressive.

... so the quip on the F'Focus board was correct then; Cove scored more goals than their opposition Banstead, had players on the pitch! :?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...saw an end of season game a few years back under similar circumstances - Elmore (from Tiverton) turned up on a May B/H Monday @ Devizes with only 8 players - Manager, Physio and Coach (had been a GK had to play up front) turned out to at least make up an 11. May have had one other club official who had to act as Physio on the day.
Was last match of a prolonged the season in the Western League - I think the clubs had actually met the day before and drawn 1-1.
Devizes ran out 15-0 winners, all outfield players scored, including the young left-back who was put up front for the last 5 mins.
Intriguingly Elmore have a backlog of fixtures this season too and are playing their last two games on Sat 28th and Sun 29th April - might even be worth a belt down the M5 for the Sunday game H vs Shrewton - though actually the Sat game looks better H v 2nd place Melksham.
How can a club as high up the pyramid as CCL premier turn up with so few?
Sure Banstead will be highly embarrassed - just looking at the website they lost their last 7 consecutive matches although one of that 7 was an extra time cup defeat. Also looks like they have been up against it this season with a number of management changes which at their level I guess means high player turnover. I hope they stick around next season as I'm sure they reached a decent level in the Isthmian a few years back.
Superb performance in the 2nd half in all but that final ball. Being given offside when otherwise clean through about 6 times, and suddenly going shot-shy didn't help but we really ripped them apart after a very even 1st half.
They will go in the Southern League according to the club, I dont think its even in question if they go down. The likes of Hitchin, Cambridge, Chesham & St Albans are all in the Southern Prem at the moment and could move to the Rymans if required.
:lol:
Reading Sunday League <> Combined Counties League. Is the CCL of similarly horrendous standard to the Hellenic Prem? Been to a couple of Reading Town FC games over the last 2 or 3 seasons but ben utterly put off by the appaling standard of football (not to mention that Scours Lane is always utterly baltic). Hellenic League football makes the Conference South look like Champions League.
The trouble with CCL Premier imo is the standard of pitches. Apart from the dancing area for the 'keepers (which looks like a little sandpit) the pitch at Stag Meadow is as good as the Madejski Stadium, but the vast majority of away pitches have been bloody appalling which doesn't lend itself to good football of course.
I think most games at Windsor have been of a reasonable standard, even against the lower teams - I personally did not detect a huge difference between the Southern Premier which Windsor & Eton played in (some of) last season and the upper reaches of the CCL Premier. On decent pitches...
Saturday's win against champions Guildford was a superb advertisement for the CCL - probably as good as it's likely to get at that level (pretty much as you'd expect seeing it was 1st against 2nd!! 8) )
RR has hit the nail on the head regarding the quality of pitches. As for the quality of football, I have been pleasantly surprised by what i have seen. Wembley, Horley, South Park and Wembley have all tried to play the game the right way - that is with pace and keeping the ball on the floor. Hanworth Villa also showed some good touches at times. Then you get the likes of Camberley who just hump it long. Mention of Conf South reminded me of the game I saw last season - Staines Town v Maidenhead Utd. It was shit! Seen far better football this season.
Writing a blog about Guernsey FC, as requested by the head of the supporters club. The first article has already been featured by the club's twitter, if you're interested in non-league football then you may like it. There's a brief introduction to the club on that link, then the next link leads to the first article, which is about the cup run, and the upcoming final.
No idea what the rules are when a team with something riding on the final day can't play but this was Maidenhead's pitch today.
It just gets replayed at a later date, simples. Not much else you can do. W&E won the league 2 years back after everyone else had finished.
Fully expect quite a few games to get called off this Saturday, with the promotion relegation issues being decided in midweek. But any more rain could totally cock things up if teams in the play offs have Saturdays game called off.
