No Fixed Abode Guardiola to step down as Barca boss at the end of the season......

This is obviously why Messi has looked like he wants to cry in the last few games

Taking a year off, but I suppose signing up to a £10m a season/4 year deal & being sacked (all that compensation) after 6 months because the boys can't play the Barca way and JT can't get is way is not a bad shout either

Enjoy m8 :)

TBM LOL here he ^^ goes again*

The winner of the competition done so by getting through the group stages as well as the knock out games - something Terry was captain for. Its not a "one off game"

*not you hoop

Of course it's a one-off game that he doesn't qualify for-this is broadly a cup competition and not a 38-game league when you could argue say if Kompany got sent off in the last league game he should still be able to lift the trophy as captain.
BTW I am not one of the many Terry haters on here but like Hoop Blah I detest the unnecessary image stuff that pervades the beautiful game.
It's also part of the "nobody must lose" society that we now live in where U8 footballers get a medal for just turning up-slightly different from getting a Cup-winners medal but you surely have to play in a game to get recognition or do you want the kit-man,the coach driver and the tea lady to get their hands on the trophy as well because they also have played a part in getting to the final?

If Pep goes to Chelsea we will all be clear that it is ONLY about the money.
The current Chelsea squad are clearly good players (if ageing a bit) but they do not play anywhere near the style Pep is used to. He'd have to change at least half the squad.

Farcical they have to do it in the firstplace.

I'm surprised UEFA doen't sanction mutual cock sucking before each match between opponents.

Who is to say that doesn't already happen?

They should scrap the handshape for league and national cup matches. If they must do it, then leave it to Internationals and competition with foreign clubs. It is all a load of nonsense.

To my mind that's exactly why he'd take the job.

Making Barcelona the team they are was, to an extent, just putting the finishing touches on the hard work behind the scenes that's been going on since Cruyff was there. He's done a great job of doing that but the real test of his coaching and management skills would be to build a team bascially from scratch.

I think he's alluded to the need for a fresh challenge as being one of the reasons he'd leave. What more challenge is there than dealing with the issues in the Chelsea dressing room.

I think Chelsea are going to beat Bayern in the final, their name is on the trophy. Can I bring myself to supporting a German side in the final? A bunch of arrogant, fat nazis.....or Bayern Munich :?:

I don't understand this English team mentality... Owned by a Russian, main team not even British and through to the final by a goal from a Spainard. It's Metropolitan surely??

If it's not Reading i couldn't give two oxf*rd.

Fired to promotion by an Aussie, a Latvian, a couple of Irishmen, a couple of Welshmen, a Grenadian, a Malian, a Jamaican, a Turk, and an Icelander amongst others

To be strictly and anally accurate, it was a goal from a Brazilian that took Chelsea through - Torres' goal was superfluous to the result.

But your point still stands.

Bit different. Supporting a club that a person has a connection with so the players change but the person supports the club because they have a connection to them (most likely because he's from the local area). You're talking about getting behind a team he has no emotional connection to who are full of foreigners simply because he's from the same country they are based.

Besides some of the players mentioned have quite a big connection to the club. Star member; "Jem I'm going to Turkey this year are there any particular places I should visit?" Jem: "Anywhere really. It's all good" Star member: "Anywhere specifically though?" Jem: "I don't know really". He turned down a contract offer by a major team in Turkey because he was "homesick" whilst on trial. Really steeped in Turkish culture is our Jem.

The two Welshmen are about as Welsh as I am and are (like Jem) products of the clubs academy so have a big connection with the club. The Icelander has been intensely loyal to the club in a sport that is full of mercenaries and has earned the fans respect and a massive place in it's history. The Aussie was given a chance by the club when no one else would take a punt on him so is also a product of the club.

I see the Chelsea supporters are living down to expectation by booing the innocent and offended party (Anton Ferdinand). They really are a thick bunch.
