Is Adam Le Fondre good enough?

Although I think Hunt and Roberts fit the team ethic better at the moment which is why McDermott has stuck with them. Hunt works very hard and often tracks back. Not saying ALF doesn't do that, but Hunt does it better and McDermott has focused on the defence and keeping clean sheets a lot this season.

Think ALF might suit the Premier League a lot though, he'll get more time on the ball and he always seems to do something good when he's on the ball.

Agreed also. What we can't do in the Premier League is play for those clean sheets, sit back and suck up pressure and hit on the break. Teams will open us up and punish us, where as in this league you can bank on your Forest's to miss a fair few opportunities and ride your luck. We have to be more attack minded if we want to stay up, and that will mean a change to the central midfield pairing - in my opinion.

Despite Le Fondre being a 'poacher', I was most impressed by his performance against Crystal Palace last week. He played the lone-striker role surprisingly very well indeed, demonstrating an efficient work rate, pretty good pace and also managing to hold on to the ball under pressure.

A player like him needs a smart attacking midfielder behind him and he'll flourish in the Premier League. Hell, Alfie has even flourished in the Championship despite playing with one of the most defensive midfields in the league. I have always believed he's every bit as good as Jordan Rhodes or Billy Sharp or Danny Graham and it would be nice to be proven right.

Also bear in mind that a few years ago Danny Graham was playing at Carlisle and is now playing well in the Premier League.

Le Fondre? Not a chance, best goalscorer at the club and a main reason why we're up! Need to offload Church and bring in someone better but ALF can stay as long as he wants, he's like a better version of Curo.

Also bear in mind that a few years ago Danny Graham was playing at Carlisle and is now playing well in the Premier League.

Grant Holt made the steps up well too, as will Lambert I assume (and he scored one more goal than him at St. Mary's)- can see Alf easily getting 20+ at this level if given a regular starting spot, don't see why given some class wingers he can't score well in the Prem.

You can never tell, but my heart says yes he will do OK, but head says that we won't be able to cut it in the top division.
