JS28ZoD It has to be Gorkks for me. From the 1st minute of the first game he played he has been a leader at the back and an absolute warrior for us, I still can't believe QPR let him go! A master stroke from McDermott.

He is up there with the best CB's I've seen at this club and deserves a ton of credit for taking the games by the scruff of the neck and turning our defence from one of the weakest in the league prior to his arrival to one of the best. Just look at our stats with and without him this season, speaks for itself.

I understand the votes for Pearce but the reason he is doing well has a lot to do with Gorkks which I think is being overlooked, especially when you consider Pearce's performances pre as post Gorkks arrival.

We have several genuine candidates this season making it a difficult choice but this says everything about why I went for Gorkks and why he should be ahead of Pearce, who in turn should win most improved player by a country mile.

are you still sat in front of Tim Dellor?

Surprised that you can see who is whom being that far removed from the pitch

Had there been a top five, no doubt Kaspers would've been in it.....

....most improved? Pearcey....yes, Karacan....yes, Cummings......yes also

AthleticoSpizz
Wycombe Royal 1. Pearce
2. Karacan
3. Federici

Fully deserved for Pearce. Must be rare for a CB to play every minute of every match.......
agree

But didn't Ivar possibly do that 2005/06? (a question not a statement)

Parky is right Ivar was 06/07, Kevin Doyle was 05/06

thanx star etc

A massive achievement from one of our own, yet Pearcey is not quite so unique

From what I saw of the paper votes Gorkss was not that far behind Feds and a long way in front of the next so it was a top 4 from those votes.

I get the irony. When the nations worst commentator is sat almost above me, is the one time I do not have to listen to his ill informed, and often irrelevant, drivel in order to get a vague idea of what is happening on the pitch..........................can't wait for greater exposure on 5 live next season!!!

Fair play. The people have spoken, but Gorkss was mugged.

No matter how much he has improved, I shudder to imagine how Pearce is going to cope with the torrent of talent, speed, agility, power and pace he is going to have to deal with next season.

John Terry has managed it for years, Vidic has never been that quick, Tony Adams wasn't exactly Usain Bolt either. Pearce has been improving steadily year on year and he's still only 23. He might struggle at first but he's got the potential to be a Premier League player for years.

A deserved winner this year IMO, Congratulations!

Congrats to Alex Pearce. I love this lad, he is Reading through and through. Would take a (metaphorical) bullet to secure 3 points and has been our most consistent performer this season. A forehead of steel and a frame to match. He loves this club as much as we do and I hope he stays here for years to come. We love you Alex.

He's brilliant... I absolutely love his attitude and am delighted he's got the award... I'd always thought he'd end up a very good Championship defender, but wouldn't be good enough for the Prem... now I'm not so sure about that second bit given how quickly he's established himself as a defensive force.

Congrats Alex. I agreed with him though and would have given it to Feds - but you can listen to any argument for either Feds, Pearce or Gorkss.

Congrats to Alex.
Both cbs and keeper have been fantastic.
I think the person who voted for Simon Church should be named and shamed
