FFS, they've got to at least interview Redknapp. All along they said they would be interviewing several candidates. Well go on then, you bunch of tossers!!! This is my England, being run by a load of self-serving twankers. Nothing's changed since 1977. We don't deserve to win anything. Revolution.

Can't believe people are saying that Dalglish has done no better. Mr Average left Liverpool in 17th place and sinking fast. Now they're in 8th place. Oh, and have reached two cup finals this season, one of which they've already won.

" LOLglish"

One of the greatest players AND managers the game has ever known. (I'm going by his record, not any particular liking for him as a person.) If he's "LOL", what about everyone else?

Hodgson was never given a chance at Liverpool......why do clubs expect a manager to work their magic in half a season - it takes years to build up a solid side.

Liverpool fans wanted Dalglish, Dalglish wanted the job, certain members of the board wanted Dalglish, the players wanted Dalglish.........Hodgson was always going to fail

I've got no problems with RH getting the job. He's achieved more in the game overall than 'appy 'Arry and generally had bugger all resource to do it with. All this crap about not being able to handle top players is ridiculous as his time at Anfield was ruined by the ridiculous situation going on in the board room meaning he had naff all funds to do anything with on the playing front.

And just what has 'Arry got over him. Believe he's won absolutely nothing in 35 years of management apart from "that" FA Cup win.

I personally hope he's strong enough to drop/stand up to the under achieving prima donnas in the squad and is capable of building a "team" from somewhat lesser parts rather than trying to hold together a load of individuals who seem to think they know better.

First start, leave Terry at home and make it quite clear to the likes of Gerrard and Lampard and Rooney et al that stepping out of line means no WC involvement.

Harry is distraught. All of England congratulating him on the England job....him acting gracefully throughout, pats on the back by all quarters and the FA turn around and appoint hodgson. He is hurting.

'arry can't be that good a manager if he was incapable of stopping Spurs going toilet recently just because he was in the frame for the England job

The Liverpool job made Hodgo look like a broken man at times, this will send him over the edge #SuicideWatch

Who knows what’s really gone on in the background though? I suspect that Tottenham had indicated that they would be looking for a huge amount of compensation to let ‘Arry go.

Hodgson has generally shown in the past that he can make average players work well together and over achieve, so on that basis he should do quite well with England.

The FA were faced with a Hobson's choice, and chose Hodgson. Harry is a much better manager, but I didn't want a guy who opened up a secret bank account in Monaco and has "shady" written all over him anywhere near the England job. It would have been Venables all over again and the journos would've dug and dug the dirt until he was turned out.

But I'm repelled by the choice of Hodgson. The best that can be said of him is that he does better with mediocre squads than with top-level ones, so he'll fit right in with England. He's just such an establishment blazer, which is why Bernstein couldn't wait to appoint him: Hodgson's virtually his double--bumbling, blustering blimps the pair of them.

I'd rather have seen Pearce given the Euros, then a permanent manager appointed based on how they went. It would seem silly to me to appoint Hodgson for more than the Euros; if he makes a parlous mess of them, we don't want to then be stuck with him for the World Cup. We've been there before, unable to get rid of Capello after he screwed up the World Cup.

Why repelled?

Joking aside, I do think this is the biggest worry with Hodgson if he gets the job.

The hacks won't give him much of a break and I do worry how he'll stand up to the type of abuse all previous managers have received.

What a load of rubbish, especially the underlined bit.

Redknapp's achievements don't come close to Hodgson's.
