Can't see Bertrand breaking in the Chelsea team to be compelety honest. He may get games here and there at the moment, but as soon as Cole retires or moves on they will buy a new left back. When was the last time one of their youth players became a first team player? :|

Very good question. Terry? Morris?

If we made a loan offer for Bertrand I am 100% sure Chelsea would accept it now that we're Premier League. After all, 38 top flight games >>>> 7 or 8 no matter what team you're playing for. I'd be tempted to try this if Chelsea won't sell.

Loan players can't play against their parent club, so would miss the 2 Chelsea games.

McDermott when asked about the rumoured £8m bid for Clyne & Zaha said "No. Thats a lot of money."

I would have thought Zaha's price would be out of our price range although I can only guess what our price range is at the moment. Clyne would certainly be affordable given his contractual situation.

Either way I won't be reading much into Brian's denials about any players. He has history and I wouldn't expect him to tell the media who our transfer targets are.

This.

We are going to have to spend more than we've ever spent before though, so we can't really adopt this " thats out of our range approach", everyone is buying players that would normally be out of their price range as football is even more inflated than last time we were there, I honestly think we need to spend in excess of 20 million on transfer fee's alone to be confident of staying up. Seems a lot but with sig, zaha and clyne you'd already be pushing that and we'd need another 1/2 on top
We won't get away with 1-2 million buys as our main signings.

He's not going to say anything else though is he? Trying to throw media hacks of the scent and not let anyone reading his comments that we're going to spending silly money now we're in the Prem.

Of course he did. He made a point of saying he didn't even want to talk about the positions he wants to add to, so he isn't going to give anything away when Fordham puts names to him.

According to a source who works at the MadStad, "McDermott is now sitting with a young black chap, about 23 years old, and has a mohican". Read into this want you want!

No, not at all. I'm too long in the tooth to waste my time messing about. A respectable colleague of mine just got the message from a friend of his who was at the MadStad. I thought it was worth mentioning, that's all.

FiNeRaIn We are going to have to spend more than we've ever spent before though, so we can't really adopt this " thats out of our range approach",

so you think we should deliberately run up big debts to try to compete, even though we'd then be completely screwed if it doesn't pay off?
