We have about 25 first team regulars who are over 21.

You would expect us to keep these 17 of these as our core squad:
1 Federici, 2 Harte, 3 Gorkss, 4 Pearce, 5 Cummings, 6 McAnuff, 7 Leigertwood, 8 Karacan, 9 Kebe, 10 Roberts, 11 Hunt, 12 McCarthy, 13 Robson-Kanu, 14 Le Fondre, 15 Church, 16 Tabb, 17 Andersen.

Therefore the 8 spots available to squeeze in new signings are probably those taken by 18 Antonio, 19 Mullins, 20 Connolly, 21 Gunnarsson, 22 Griffin, 23 J. Mills, 24 Howard, 25 Cyfka. Mullins and Connolly might be 2 off the "5 signings" anyway, and if we were to sign new premierleague class defenders or midfielders then the likes of Griffin or Gunnarsson would play less than in this season anyway. You can change the squad in January so they might hang around in reserve. You can also get special dispensation to include goalkeepers - so maybe Andersen or McCarthy will be loaned out and not given a number, on the grounds that we can swap them in if necessary.

The likes of Baseya, Williams, Gage, Bignal and Shephard are all over 21 and outside the 25 so would be ineligible to play in the premierleague. Which you would hope would not be relevant!

The likes of Taylor, Hector, Obita, D'ath, J Mills are all U21 could all play if needed, but again you would hope this wasn't relevant.

Fairly sure Gage and Sheppard are classed as under 21.

I can also keep us keeping some more experienced fringe players for the cup games that aren''t necessarily in the 25 man squad. Just to sure up the youngsters that would inevitably get a run out.

Remember as well you don't have to submit the 25 man squad until after the transfer window shuts, so it gives us a few games to see who will and will not cut in in the Premiership

One unfounded rumour in the press was linking us with Stephen Hunt and Kevin Doyle.

Not sure Hunt still has the energy/legs, which was his main/only asset

I would be surprised if anyone, in the Premiership, takes Hunt on.....

Reading - relegated
Hull - relegated
Wolves - relegated

If ever there was a player to stay away from it's Stephen Hunt. He had a terrible attitude here before he left. Absolutely no thanks.

Someone on 606 the other day said that Ethan Gage was leaving in the summer.

I was just going to post that. They phoned in to congratulate Roberts and said they were related to Gage, Roberts appeared to confirm it.

No thanks to either. Doyle is past it and Hunt is virtually onomatopoeic.

Yes, he has been told he can go. I heard yesterday Yeovil and Cheltenham were interested.

Edit: Offered a trial at Cheltenham.

For the record the list is accurate apart from McHugh being missed in the under 21's - unless he has left already? And to be pedantic Cwyka was signed not loaned.

Absolutely right, he is poisonous. We saved his career and he treated us so badly.

We need to take that list and highlight the non "home grown" players as there is a cap on how many we can have in the 25 man squad.... probably won't be a problem for us.
