They will have fun trying to attract/keep players without CL to tempt them. 6th place really isn't good enough is it.

For some reason I thought Ferreira left years ago.

Shocking support for one of the two best teams in Europe.

After last nights performance, and not the first time he's been that poor this year season either, there is no way Terry can make the grade for the England team this year, surely?

Hodgson should set out his stall early and drop Terry for the Euros - a real chance to stamp his authority on the team.

But he won't.

What, another “uncharacteristic mistake” from John Terry?

At what point, pundits, does repeated uncharacteristic behaviour become characteristic?

Old, slow, sh/t, racist with a trailer park haircut. He looks like a fat Butthead. Please England, update your video reels and stop comparing the new blood to John Terry 2004.

The odd thing is that Terry has always been regarded as a good defender against the old-style English centre-forward but vulnerable against the smaller, quicker player but last night he had a nightmare against Carroll.
That performance alone could give Roy a let-out for the Euros regarding the difficult position with Ferdinand and today's paper suggests that he might not even make the 23.
I don't have an opinion one way or another because whoever is selected won't make much difference to how well/badly we do.

The sad part about last night was once again how ordinary Michael Essien now looks.
Once a real powerhouse it sadly seems as though the serious injury will now end his career at the top level-worth reminding people that there is no guarantee (Wilshere?)of a player making a successful comeback after a lengthy injury break.

BTW how dreadful was the challenge by Essien on Carroll?
If it hadn't been an end of season meaningless fixture he would surely have seen red and rightly so.

One good thing about last night was Bertrand only being moderate which could just mean that we have a better chance of signing him.
One bad thing about last night, what a great big baby Ivanovic is-up until now I always thought of him as a strong, competitive player but last night he was as soft as Malouda and the much-heralded Sturridge.

As I've posted in the Euro's squad thread, the Mail have suggested this morning that Terry might be missnig out on the Euro's. I'm not sure if they're just filling space in the paper and putting an idea out there, or if they've got some indication of it from Hodgson, but the way he's played the last few weeks (after some good form for the spell after AVB left) it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

It would be a bold move by Hodgson, and one that I think would earn him a lot of kudos amongst many. It would be one that the 'arry loving hacks would love to use against him though, so brave to put his neck on the line so early.

Surely, regardless of form, Terry has to be eliminated from the squad anyway, on the racism charge alone?

It's 'Kick It Out', not 'Make It Captain'.

Don't agree with that as it is still just a charge.
Also I don't think the argument of different factions in a squad rather than one big happy family makes the difference that so many think it does.
Man Utd did pretty well with Cole and Sheringham playing alongside each other but never talking when away from the pitch.

I think it might have more of an impact in international tournaments though. They basically live together for what, 5 or 6 weeks? If there's trouble boiling under with 30 blokes stuck in a hotel with very little to do it must be more of an issue.

Spain seem to manage reasonably well with the Barcelona/Real Madrid split, but I think that might be because the majority of them have grown up together and so they've always played together through the Spain system.

We don't do very well with or without the cameraderie so maybe it''s time for a Dutch style everybody hating each other approach.

Whether it's right or wrong, wasn't Bowyer suspended from England duty while awaiting trial?
