Hoop Blah I think it might have more of an impact in international tournaments though. They basically live together for what, 5 or 6 weeks? If there's trouble boiling under with 30 blokes stuck in a hotel with very little to do it must be more of an issue.
Spain seem to manage reasonably well with the Barcelona/Real Madrid split, but I think that might be because the majority of them have grown up together and so they've always played together through the Spain system.
