pea
bracksroyal10 Gunter? .......... Seems like his Forest days are numbered as one of their top players its surely only a matter of time before he wants a shot at the PL. Don't know how much the club would want but think Forest are in a bit of a financial situation aren't they?

Out of contract I think..

not been great this season though, if he gets a shot at the premier league I'd be surprised if it is this year

Been linked with Swans

Even better Pepe might be a very good signing if you think about it. We need a back up right back anyway, if its Cummings vs Gunter might be a very good competition between two young players that will bring the best out of them as well as that Gunter can be deployed as a centre back too I believe.

If he is going to be a freebie might be a very worthwhile gamble

Apparently we are pretty interested. Birmingham say no bids received from anyone.

Why is it so hard to check if there's already a thread before starting a new one? :|

Sean Morrison? Also, we currently only have three centre backs with any real experience. You'd still say no?

Rumour: Reading back in for Curtis Davies

by Jay o/ » 15 Dec 2012 18:01

We're back in for him. Sounds like Pearce wont take the new deal we've offered and Brian is ready to keep his promise of 'sign or we sell' in Jan.

It wont be a great signing in terms of helping us stay up, but it's going to be too late for that come January anyway. It will however be a decent signing for next season back in the Championship.

For the Champ, yes please. Davies, Morrison, Mariappa, Gorkss and Hector would do for the 5 centre backs.

He is also a full time Simon Church double.

James Nursey is usually very reliable with goings on in the midlands. This sounds like back-up if the Sunzu fee can't be negotiated. I think I'd almost be happier with this as well. He wouldn't expect to come straight in and start, plus if we went down then he wouldn't want out either.

I think I read somewhere that he is on silly money at Brum.

You're right pasty, the article says its £27k per week which to me seems silly money but I don't know what is or isn't silly money these days t be honest.

It's certainly more than I earn in a month, so it's silly!

Yeh but hasn't he only posted what The Mirror are reporting? He's just taken a picture of their story so not necessarily backing it up.

Davies' name has been rumoured every window for about 3 years now. No smoke without fire as they say but if Pearce and Sunzu sign up i'd be very doubtful (and a bit disappointed) if we sign another centre back

Birmingham are in desperate need to sell though so could probably get the fee down to £1m but his wages, as mentioned will not be cheap
